This 1988 Porsche 911 Turbo came specified in paint-to-sample Smoke Silver Metallic with M505 slant-nose bodywork, a limited-slip differential, and a leather-to-sample interior. The car is finished in paint-to-sample Smoke Silver Metallic, a Mercedes-Benz color, and is equipped with factory flachbau bodywork (M505), a package that featured pop-up headlights, vented front fenders, side strakes, and extended side sills. Additional equipment includes a brown soft top, a tea-tray rear spoiler, and dual exhaust outlets. The rocker panels were refinished in 2015, and the windshield frame seal and several Tenax fasteners were replaced in 2025. Imperfections are shown up close in the gallery.
Forged 16″ Fuchs alloy wheels with body-color centers are mounted with Michelin Pilot SX tires that show date codes from 2021 and 2023. Braking is handled by four-wheel cross-drilled and ventilated discs, and the front and rear brake pads were replaced in May 2026. Turbo models received front and rear sway bars as standard.
The brown leather-to-sample interior houses power-adjustable front seats with adjustable lumbar support, an analog clock, power windows, a fire extinguisher, and a Blaupunkt cassette stereo. The door strikers were replaced in 2024, and work in May 2026 included replacing the window switches and the air conditioning condenser blower motor as well as recharging the air conditioning system with R12 refrigerant.
The four-spoke leather-wrapped steering wheel frames VDO instrumentation including a central tachometer with a 6,700-rpm redline as well as a 170-mph speedometer and gauges for oil pressure, oil temperature, oil level, fuel level, and boost pressure. The speedometer was repaired in 2015 and the six-digit odometer shows 40k miles, less than 1k of which were added under current ownership.
The turbocharged 3.3-liter flat-six was factory rated at 282 horsepower and 278 lb-ft of torque. The fuel pump and check valves, ignition wires, and the distributor cap and rotor were replaced in 2024, and the fuel level sending unit and battery were replaced in 2026. A trickle charger has been hardwired to the battery.

Still a steal at these levels. These cars should be worth much more. I have an 87 Coupe. Legendary to drive and as appealing to just look at. Would not be surprised if these are million dollar cars someday. Maybe sooner than you think. Hope the car sells.

I knew it the moment I saw it, that it was Reggie’s car! I shared it with him, he may comment. I remember a long ride together in the car from Monterey to Oakland. He kept it into the late 90’s sometime. He had numerous turbos starting in the 70’s

@Beachboy18 actually the 1975-1979 930s were also considered to be hand made. The fenders were hand welded to create the flare. Starting in 80 they were all stamped.

The M505 option is one of the more interesting factory paths in the 930 story — a Werks I option built alongside the 959 program on the same Zuffenhausen line, requested by clients who wanted the 935-inspired flat-nose look with full factory warranty rather than a coachbuilt conversion. Cabriolet examples in this configuration are the scarcest of the lot!

Beautifull turbo. The grandpa driving comment cracks me up. I'm 66. I sold my hot rod 79 930 about 5 years ago, and kept my 88 911 cab. The main reason why I sold the 930 was it was hard to drive it as intended due to too much traffic. The only way I would be able to exercise the turbo properly was to get up at 7 am on a Saturday or Sunday (not to church) to run it on the highway north of Atlanta. Even then, I could only do full boost sprints sporadically as traffic would build (as the cops) but I would still try and work around it. I got lucky many times. Rolling 60 - 120 sprints were epic on full boost bar none. I ended starting to drive the turbo as I did the 88 (similar to this driving video) so I decided to sell the 930.

When I purchased the car the owner who also happens to be the owner of Desoto Euro Werks Monty Montgomery replaced the fuel filter and fuel accumulator as part of the deal. You’ll noticed on one of the invoices from Pelican that I purchased new check valves and had him install when he did the complete tune up at that time. I checked all the rubber lines and was satisfied at that time so I did not replace. Over my two years of ownership I have added approximately 900 miles and assure you that the car was driven at least 15-30 min every month I’ve owned. I am retired so have time to regularly exercise all mine. I had the 90 SC targa out this morning. The car has been stored properly (see picture-it’s the one on top)as it was under Monty’s ownership.

It’s evident this lovely car has sat a lot. What’s the condition of the rubber fuel lines and the accumulator? When’s the last time the brake fluid was flushed, and what’s the condition of the brake lines? I’m just concerned about overall rubber rot on a car that’s been sitting so long (after all, the tires are 11 years old). Not a big deal, just a bunch of potential deferred service for the buyer.

Good morning. There are two covers. The one that comes with the car covers the top when it is down. The cockpit cover I searched for and was never able to find one especially in the matching color of the top. I’ll search my photos to see if I have one with it on. If not I’ll take one and post.

Beautiful car. If possible, please post a pic with the tonneau cover in place. I have never seen one that covered both the passenger and driver side (which I am assuming this one must since there are fasteners along both window frames). Also, is the boot cover for the folded top included, and a pic if available. Thanks!

Studying your nice set of photos more carefully, I’ve got a few questions:

1. What’s the pink non-factory hose in photo 233?
That is the heater box hose and is OE. Go on Pelican parts and search 930-211-622-01-OEM I would paste here but system wont allow me to.
2.Heat exchangers / turbo exhaust plumbing (photos 235 and 238) Any perforations or flange leaks?
No, I have had parked on my lift (top) and no signs of oil dripping. No perforations/leaks.
3. Oil sheen ( photos 231, 232, 235). Are the turbo oil return and cooler seals leaking? Also please confirm there’s no rust in the front cooler area (photos 241/242).
Same as #2 no oil drips. Absolutely no rust present. I was going to have it under side dry ice cleaned prior to listing but I decided that it would be better to show in the original state that you see. So, basically dirty Cosmoline.
4. Refinished transaxle/diff (photos 234, 236) sharply contrast with the rusty exhaust. Please confirm they are original. Were they rebuilt or just cleaned up for the photo shoot?
That is a very good question. The clutch was replaced by then owner of car and Desoto Euro Werks Monty Montgomery . The OE rubber center hub was broken which is very common and was replaced with spring center hub. While out of the car the trans was cleaned on the outside. Good eye on your part.

No, I have had parked on my lift (top) and no signs of oil dripping. No perforations/leaks.
3. Oil sheen ( photos 231, 232, 235). Are the turbo oil return and cooler seals leaking? Also please confirm there’s no rust in the front cooler area (photos 241/242).
Same as #2 no oil drips. Absolutely no rust present. I was going to have it under side dry ice cleaned prior to listing but I decided that it would be better to show in the original state that you see. So, basically dirty Cosmoline.
4. Refinished transaxle/diff (photos 234, 236) sharply contrast with the rusty exhaust. Please confirm they are original. Were they rebuilt or just cleaned up for the photo shoot?
That is a very good question. The clutch was replaced by then owner of car and Desoto Euro Werks Monty Montgomery . The OE rubber center hub was broken which is very common and was replaced with spring center hub. While out of the car the trans was cleaned on the outside. Good eye on your part.
