2001 Lamborghini Diablo VT 6.0
Presentation
This 2001 Lamborghini Diablo VT 6.0 spent time in Illinois before being exported to Europe in 2016, and it was purchased by the seller in 2022 and was subsequently relocated back to the US. It is powered by a 6.0-liter V12 that has been fitted with a QuickSilver exhaust system and is mated to a five-speed manual transmission, which was rebuilt in 2024. Finished in Arancio Atlas, the car has 29k miles and is further equipped with a Viscous Traction all-wheel-drive system, front and rear limited-slip differentials, anti-lock brakes, 18″ Speedline alloy wheels, a rear wing, fixed headlights, scissor doors, bucket seats, carbon-fiber interior trim, automatic climate control, aftermarket audio components, and a gated shifter. This Diablo VT 6.0 is now offered with service records, Lamborghini-branded car cover, tool kit, seat covers, a touch-up paint kit, a clean Carfax report, and an Ohio title in the name of the seller’s trust.
The Diablo was initially designed by Marcello Gandini and was restyled for the VT model with enlarged intakes at the front and rear of the car. For the 2000 and 2001 model years, the 6.0 was further refined with larger air intakes in the front fascia, smoothed body lines, and a reworked rear wing. This example is finished in Arancio Atlas, and additional details include scissor doors, fog lights, carbon-fiber accents, and fixed composite headlights sourced from the contemporary Z32 Nissan 300ZX. According to the seller, the bumper covers have been repainted under current ownership, and the body has previously received paintwork. The headlight switch requires replacement, the rear bumper cover has cracking in its finish, and paint chips are located on the front trunk lid and fenders.
The 18″ Speedline alloy wheels are mounted with Pirelli tires showing 2015 date codes. Stopping power is provided by an anti-lock system with multi-piston Brembo calipers over cross-drilled rotors, and the seller states that the adjustable suspension triggers a flashing warning light. The brake rotors and pads were replaced in August 2025.
The bucket seats left the factory trimmed in Viola, and orange piping and stitching accents the seats. Carbon-fiber trim accents the cabin, and aftermarket audio components have been installed, along with an Alpine head unit, and the audio system is said to be inoperative. Appointments include dual airbags, automatic climate control, and a gated shifter. The dashboard upholstery has delaminated.
The leather-wrapped steering wheel frames a 220-mph speedometer, a tachometer with a 7,500-rpm redline, and auxiliary gauges for oil pressure, coolant temperature, oil temperature, and fuel level. The digital odometer indicates 29k miles, approximately 7k of which were added under current ownership.
The 6.0-liter V12 was factory rated at 543 horsepower and 457 lb-ft of torque. The top end of the engine was repaired in August 2025, at which time the valves were adjusted, the coolant was flushed, the oil was changed, and the crankshaft sensor, valve cover gaskets, and spark plugs were also replaced. The throttle position sensor was adjusted in August 2026, and an invoice in the gallery notes a leaking exhaust manifold.

That is correct. It is believed to be the only one ever produced in that specification. Arancio Atlas (same color as Arancio Borealis, but they call it Atlas on the V12 cars) with Viola interior and orange stitching & piping.
It looks more grey than purple in person and in photos; it's a very subtle purple hue. If you told me it was grey, I'd believe you, and honestly I had to see other grey ones and see the factory confirmation of the color to be fully convinced that it wasn't grey.

So this car left Bologna with an Orancio (Orange) exterior and a Viola (Purple) interior?! That is a very interesting spec.

Here is a link to a folder with historical for sale listings (2008, 2015, and 2020) as well as a number of archived photos spanning back to 2008. I figured it's better to post a link here than upload them to the gallery, as without context they could be confusing as some of them show the old SV-style wing on the car or the front license plate mounted, and I wanted the auction gallery to only be the car as it sits today (other than the photos of the engine-out service). https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fo/wy9lh9ncfh4dw9mp6vkwt/AEO-v-2zaUk1MoXqjlqyVko?rlkey=v809roj77gp7whxqbn5kro9wc&dl=0

Serendipity that our @Seller (themexicanstig), has listed a Diablo. On a lighter note... Wife to me: "You're a cheap b_sta_d. You never buy me anything. Why would you even consider bidding on this? Me to wife: "Sweetie pie, please don't blame me ...it's that little devil on my shoulder.

5-speed shifter paired with that naturally aspirated V12 and a QuickSilver exhaust must sound unreal.
Oct 12, 2026 · 18:41
That was quick to the "stoney-boney" bid. Must be the bright color.

That gated shifter and v12 combo is what I'd want this car for

Short of the equally stunning Miura, the 6.0 simply has the best lines of any Lamborghini on the planet. Somehow manages to make my 2023 Tecnica look like a Ford Probe!

A wonderful example of just how beautiful and elegant Lamborghini once was. This is just stunning, at a loss for words.

@TonsofGasAutoCollection -
To be honest, I have no documentation or confirmation of prior paint work other than the bumpers which I had done. In my files I have screenshots of a 2008 for sale listing, a 2015 for sale listing, and a 2020 for sale listing, and none of them mention paintwork. They do say that it was, prior to that, meticulously maintained, and in the 2015 listing, always at the Lamborghini dealer. The 2020 listing also describes it as being "documented accident free", and that listing was at 21,750 miles. I bought it with 22,200 miles. My eyes tell me upon close inspection that it's probably had the front end painted at some point. But ya know, that could just be the Italian factory paint quality that they were so renowned for. In terms of the color, metallic flake, etc, it's all there.

What’s the extend of prior paint work? All over paint or which panels? How is the color match?
