This 2024 Ford F-550 Super Duty Crew Cab Lariat is a chassis-cab model that was purchased new by the seller in February 2024 and subsequently fitted with a proof-of-concept vacuum-infused monocoque composite camper produced by the seller’s company, Ever Overland. Powered by a 6.7-liter Power Stroke turbodiesel V8 linked to a 10-speed automatic transmission, the truck also has DBL Designs 20″ two-piece wheels, powder-coated bumpers, and Bilstein off-road shocks. The rig has been refinished in the Toyota hue of Lunar Rock (6X3) infused in a Kevlar-impregnated textured paint with black accents and fitted with custom black powder-coated bumpers that are winch-ready. The front bumper is equipped with a built-in 30″ LED curved light bar, four amber built-in LED Offroad Town lights, and the factory turn signals while the rear carries LED reverse and tail lights, a trailer plug, a receiver hitch, and mini button corner marker lights. Factor 55 flat splicers and tow rings are equipped at both ends. The light bar and amber lights have been wired into the stock upfitter switches, and additional exterior truck details include jewel-effect LED headlights, cab clearance lights, power-telescoping/-folding side mirrors, and powered Rough Country running boards/sidesteps.
DBL Designs Super Single two-piece wheels are finished in black and mounted with 335/80 Continental MPT 81 tires. A heavy-duty monobeam axle with coil springs at the front and leaf springs out back are augmented by DBL Designs sway bars and Bilstein off-road shocks. The steering is power-assisted, as are the four-wheel disc brakes with ABS.
The Ever Overland camper is a molded, seamless monocoque shell with a 1″ PVC structural core sandwiched between layers of fiberglass. In addition to a side-entry door accessed by a set of Lippert 24″ power steps, it is fitted with six custom-made awning-style windows plus a fixed skylight, all made with vacuum-insulated safety glass, exterior transparent shields, and interior solar tinting. A motorized, self-supporting Fiamma F45 Eagle awning is recessed into the camper shell on the passenger side, and a Velit 3000R 48-volt air-conditioner, a pair of 400-watt EcoFlow solar panels, and four embedded hoist points are mounted up top. The habitat is Starlink-ready with pre-installed, weather-sealed wiring, and Polk Outdoor Speakers are mounted underneath. Additional exterior details include front and rear clearance lights, a pair of 21×34×8″ underfloor storage compartments, and a larger compartment with a 7.5′ slide-out equipment-storage shelf.
The interior walls and ceiling are lined with PET felt acoustic panels, Bolon woven vinyl overlays the floors, and custom nine-ply, 3/4” Baltic birch cabinetry is used throughout along with offset dimmable LED lighting. Sleeping accommodations consist of a cabover queen bed, and brown leather seating for the rear kitchenette folds flat to form a second queen-sized bed. Ventilation is handled by a 10-speed Maxxair 7500K intake and exhaust vent fan with a lighted interior shroud, and onboard audio is provided by Klipsch R-51M bookshelf speakers recessed in the forward cabinetry and a 300-watt Bluetooth Class-D stereo amplifier with a two-zone Russound speaker controller. In addition to 10 kilowatts of battery storage, power needs are met by an EcoFlow system connected to a 1,000-watt alternator hookup and a 110-volt shore connection.
The kitchenette is equipped with a 110-volt, two-burner induction cooktop, a Vitrifrigo refrigerator/freezer, and a bar bottle rack. HiMacs solid-surface countertops with molded-in sinks are utilized in the kitchen and oversized wet bathroom, the latter of which is lined with waterproof vinyl wallpaper and equipped with a Thetford cassette toilet with an exterior service door. Water is filtered through a Waterdrop tankless reverse osmosis system and is heated by a Timberline 2.0 diesel water heater that performs double duty as a two-zone forced-air heater. Water storage capacities are 95+ gallons for fresh water and 40+ for gray.

Hey @justinstrailer - Fair questions. Let me expand on the tow capabilities. This truck has the Ford OEM Tow package and can definitely tow more than the Civic I drove post-college (yes I towed with a Civic). That said, I built it around my use case: flying paramotors with my family and young daughter. The shell and rear bumper cantilever about 30" past the frame rails which means a standard hitch would sit underneath the truck and be inaccessible.
I wanted to make sure I could put a bike rack on there, but if real towing is a priority for you, the right move is to extend the frame rails and mount your hitch to the extended frame. It's not expensive, and plenty of builders have done it. That's the kind of customization this platform is built for.
Same logic with the winches. Most of my trips were on fire roads and I never got stuck. The bumpers are winch ready, so you can add those if you want. Given how capable the platform already is and where I was going, it didn't make sense to carry the extra weight and complexity.
This truck is priced so that the next owner can build it into exactly what they want and still come in at a fraction of an Earthroamer's cost. It may not check every box on your wishlist, but it's a genuinely capable platform with plenty of room for your own accessories and modifications. I'm not going anywhere, and I'll be available after the sale to help dial in whatever direction you want to take it. That's part of what I'm here to do at Ever.

Could you help us understand the rationale behind the hitch being rated to tow 500 pounds? I've never heard of such a rating on anything bigger than a Subaru :) For such a capable frame as the F550, with the torque it has, even if you planned to never tow, why not install a standard hitch with a 10k limit from the beginning?
The ad says the bumpers are winch ready - why aren't there winches alreqady installed?

@eugeneej - The front "trapezoidal" skylight is fixed but there is a second roof access hatch / skylight right behind it that does open. You could definitely mount a RTT and access via the square skylight but might need to reorient some solar. Would be super nice to park kids up there - one of my other shell customers is doing that.

Keep in mind, buyers will have an opportunity to go over everything with a fine tooth comb at pickup and make sure everything is as expected. It's an awesome truck and I don't expect any surprises.

@Muffinchops - The fancy house behind some of my videos is my neighbor... I have a nice shop but it only has a 10' door... This truck has lived outside since June 2025 and has been extensively tested against everything from 2° in the Colorado winter to 110°+ in the Texas sun. It is not parked under a covering of any kind. Last year there was a little leak due to a crack in the vent fan housing and the vent fan was replaced with the Maxxfan currently present. Everything was meticulously sealed with RTV sealant and extensively tested by months of neglect. No concerns here.
@Follower777 - Good question. I'll be honest - the HP rating on these trucks is a little squishy... F250 has a higher output than the F550 because "lighter trucks are tuned for higher peak output, while heavier commercial trucks prioritize sustained torque and durability" (Google Ai). That said: When I took it over the Raton Pass (6% grade & 7,834 feet) at night last February, I basically just stayed on cruise control at 70mph and didn't know I had reached the summit until I had to use the engine brake. It's a super powerful truck and didn't break a sweat whatever the published HP rating is...
@justinstrailer - The insulation is solid: Fresh water and the black water tanks are part of the habitat envelope - no freeze concerns there. Gray water tank is underneath the shower and has two 12v heating pads; you could certainly add more if you're taking it somewhere really cold for an extended period of time.
Another story: my first night outside Colorado Springs, I realized that I had forgotten a CO2 detector... out of an abundance of caution, I decided not to run the heater. It was 12° outside. I slept great and when I woke up, I was pleasantly surprised to find that it was like 55° inside. There is a smoke & Co2 detector now and the diesel heater works great.
Heater details: Timberline 2.0 heater: Externally mounted Diesel burner with two zone heat exchangers: one right by the door and one by the rear dinette (you can see the CNC cut registers in the pictures). No floor heat (weight, complexity, time, cost) but the Timberline heater works great.
Insulation: Walls and Ceiling are covered pretty well in the video (1" structural core + 1.5" closed cell spray foam (this is about 2-3x what you get out of standard residential open cell foam - really rigid as well) + 3/4" PET wall panels) and the floor is basically 2" of structural foam as part of the composite lamination.
@Babyray992 - 10KW Ecoflow setup with 800W solar. The truck alternator charges the house batteries when it's running and can power everything - the truck is your "generator" backup. If you make a terrible mistake and have to camp out somewhere hot you can run the AC indefinitely while idling the truck. Yes, idling a modern diesel engine is suboptimal, but in a pinch...

Beautiful truck. As for the engine, seems to be quite an undersell to say it is rated at 300 hp. The 2024 should be around 475 hp / 1,050 lb-ft torque. I’ve never seen a 300 hp rating on the 6.7 powerstroke. Did I miss that?

Another question I've had about the spare tires: Included in the sale are four spare tires; they're 4x Pirelli Pista PS22 tires 335/80R20 (tread is 80-90%) and a remanufactured 5th super single wheel. Buyer can have those mounted or just take them as spares.

@snapster - (re: your earlier comment about the title) The F550 was titled originally as a flat bed: "FB" on the Texas title. There are no liens and title is in hand so the sale should be fairly painless. Title picture showing "FB" attached.

@Jozsef82 - This vehicle isn't setup to tow anything over 500lb - the 2x2 hitch is really for bike racks etc. The truck itself can to an obscene amount of weight, but would require frame rail extensions. Those can be added by any truck shop, but I didn't do them for this vehicle.

Just a few cents worth: Never plug your RV in to 240v. There is 30 amp and 60 amp 120v RV’s. This one appears to be able to plug in to as little as 15 amp 120v, like an extension cord, which seems like a great choice for alternate power to charge it.

@wwbetts - Thanks! I'm 6'-3" and designed the inside around taller folks. The inside standing height is 6'-9" and very comfortable for me. The bed is a true full queen mattress - no "RV queen" here.
Exterior height of the truck is about 11'-7" including the air conditioner. It's a little lower than similar sized vehicles and fits comfortably through 12' service doors (oil changes, etc.).

@Churbin - 28' long (inc. bumpers), ~11mpg, weight: 15,260lb (with fuel, without water).
@BlueOak - The shell was demounted for paint; everything on the truck was removed, painted, and reinstalled - it took forever and cost as much as a cheap car but it's the best way to do it; LRM Customs did a good job with it. Pretty much nothing sticks to the paint so fine dirt and road grime generally rinse off with rain. The first time I washed it was for this listing. For stuck on dirt, you can use a pressure washer or a gentile nylon brush. Mechanicals are easily accessible for servicing. All Inside wall panels remove with hidden screws to access components.

Is the roof of the cab the original OEM paint? It appeared the camper shell was fitted to the truck prior to truck re-painting. One supposes it isn’t a big deal, but curious.
How does that textured paint wash/cleanup? Does it catch fine dust/dirt? Or is the texture closed enough to prevent buildup?

@laruemartin - full 48v EcoFlow setup with 800w solar and 10 kwh (2x 5kwh) Ecoflow batteries. Batteries are charged by the solar, truck alternators, or with shore power (120v). The shore power was designed for charging in locations where you have access to a 120v plug but not a full 240 outlet. The thinking here is that you can plug in at your buddy’s house with a standard wall outlet but most people don’t have a 240v plug.
Substrate in the shower is 6mm aluminum clad polyethylene sign board. It’s more resilient than frp.

I have seen this rig up close and inside. As a restorer of vintage Spartans, I can attest that the upfitting is impeccable. Well thought out and extremely well executed.

Howdy all - seller here checking in here! Lots going on here so feel free to reach out with questions. A few quick comments to get caught up.
@laruemartin - We’ve pulled 7 shells out of our moulds; Ever Overland only manufactures the shells and sells to upfitters. This shell is fiberglass and can be easily worked on by a good boat shop.
@snapster - this truck is definitely on Ford's 4wd platform; apologies if that was missed in the description.
@reibrown - indeed; I'm sure those exist (the captain's chairs) and the passthrough was a related decision: I have a 2 year old in a carseat and didn't want to be crawling through a hole and around a carseat. The Ever shell supports a passthrough and you could definitely add one to this rig. Rear wall will easily supports 400+lb evenly distributed so gear storage boxes, rear tire carrier, etc. are all super feasible. The shell lamination is excessively engineered.

@Blackonblack911 - it is a waterproof vinyl wallpaper - similar to a car wrap. I just didn't want it to look like a traditional RV. If you don't like the "White Lotus" vibe it can be removed and is white underneath. The same material on the refrigerator (except black behind).
@upfront - I’m familiar with the complaints about DBL. DBL is nearby and has been good to work with on this truck. He also featured this rig on his socials which was kinda fun and he graciously gave me those tires as takeoffs. I won’t make any attempt to convince anyone about DBL but will say these wheels have been great and look awesome.

@blackonblack911...in the description...HiMacs solid-surface countertops with molded-in sinks are utilized in the kitchen and oversized wet bathroom, the latter of which is lined with waterproof vinyl wallpaper and equipped with a Thetford cassette toilet with an exterior service door.

Nice rig, would be nice if it had rear captain's chairs and a pass through to the living area. Also, any idea as to what that rear wall will carry weight wise? Lots of space for boxes and spare tires.

The DBL wheels are terrible. We had more than one failure and made a deposit on a number of their wheels. They were a new wheel that they were replacing it with and they never delivered took the deposit and keep telling us that they’ll send it back and this has been three years. Have multiple text and multiple commitments from them to send the deposit back and they’ve never once done it so anything else in the truck may be OK but the wheels are terrible.
