Presentation

This 1988 Mercedes-Benz 560SL has spent the majority of its time in California and now shows 105k miles. The car is finished in Signal Red over Palomino leather and is powered by a 5.5-liter V8. The seller purchased the car in 2022, and the four-speed automatic transmission was reportedly replaced in 2024. Additional services reportedly completed in 2024 included replacement of the front bumper insert, power steering pump, air conditioning system components, rear main seal, distributor with cap and rotor, spark plugs, radiator, and expansion tank. Features include a limited-slip differential, a replacement tan soft top, a removable hardtop, chrome-plated 15″ Gullideckel alloy wheels, an alarm system, electric windows, central locking, cruise control, and automatic climate control. An Alpine CD stereo, carpeted dash mat, and aftermarket cup holder mounted in the center console have been installed. This R107 is now offered with the owner’s manual, service records, a clean Carfax report, and a clean Oregon title in the seller’s name.

@Dylmanater I am uploading some more invoices that didn't seem to make the first go around for some reason. No known mechanical issues currently. The car does not leave marks inside the garage, so leaks do not seem to be an issue. The transmission does shift smoothly through the gears with no clunking in between the forward and backward gears. I believe there are some photos of the dash without the dash cover, but no, there aren't any dash cracks. The suspension is nice, and in one of the invoices that is being uploaded now, there is mention of shock and strut replacement. Many, many thousands of dollars have been spent on this car in the last four(ish) years of my ownership. It was going to be a forever car for my wife and I. Health issues have taken precedent over the use and enjoyment of this car. The new owner will enjoy this automobile, as have I.

Hi there, just a few questions about the vehicle. - Any known unaddressed mechanical issues? - Any leaks? (I saw in the service docs it had some in the past and wondering if these were all addressed?)
- does the transmission shift smooth through all gears and no thumping from drive to reverse? (I see mentioned the entire transmission was replaced recently? So I imagine that fixed any issues)
- Any cracks on the dash? - How’s the suspension? I see on one of the service docs it recommended overhauling front suspension, curious if that was completed? Thank you.
