145-Mile 2021 McLaren Elva

This 2021 McLaren Elva is the final production car of a planned 149 Elva Series examples built, and it was delivered new with curated MSO Bespoke specifications to the current owner via McLaren Atlanta. The carbon-fiber body wears a green-tinted 2×2 twill carbon-fiber finish, while power is provided by a 4.0-liter DOHC V8 with two twin-scroll turbochargers and dry-sump lubrication. Additional features include a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transaxle, ProActive Chassis Control II, the Stealth Pack, deployable roll-over protection, electro-hydraulic steering, carbon-ceramic brakes, staggered-dimension super-lightweight forged wheels, a suspension lift system, parking sensors, a rearview camera, and a full windscreen. Inside, the cockpit houses carbon-fiber bucket seats that are trimmed in black Ultrafabric with MSO Bespoke green piping and stitching. Amenities include air conditioning, a touchscreen infotainment system, and a McLaren sound system. This McLaren Elva has 146 miles, and it is now offered on dealer consignment in Georgia with factory extras, a pair of Elva-branded Bell helmets, a car cover, a window sticker, service records, a clean Carfax report, and a clean Montana title.
The Elva was unveiled in late 2019 as part of McLaren’s Ultimate Series lineup with its design and name paying homage to the M1A, B, and C sports racers constructed in partnership between Bruce McLaren and Elva Cars. The open-roof bodywork is wrapped around a carbon-fiber MonoCell II monocoque chassis and is composed of three main carbon-fiber panels along with low-profile carbon-fiber dihedral doors.
This example is fitted with a full windscreen, and its body panels wear a green-tinted 2×2 twill carbon-fiber finish, a $250k option. The exterior trim is finished in brushed Galvanic Grey, and aerodynamic features include a front splitter, a rear diffuser, a body-color carbon-fiber active rear spoiler, intake scoops on each flank, and intake ducts channeling through each door.
Forged alloy wheels measuring 19×9” up front and 20×11” at the rear are finished in Dark Stealth and wear 245/35 and 305/30 Pirelli P Zero tires. The car is also equipped with a front lift system. Sintered cross-drilled and ventilated carbon-ceramic brake rotors measure 390mm in diameter and are acted upon by forged monobloc calipers that utilize six pistons up front and four pistons at the rear and are finished in black with white McLaren script. Stopping assistance is also provided by the rear spoiler.
The cockpit houses carbon-fiber bucket seats that are trimmed in black Ultrafabric with MSO Bespoke green piping and stitching. Body-color carbon-fiber surfaces extend to the doors, center console, and rear bulkhead, and the car was also optioned with the MSO Interior Trim package.
Additional features include a deployable rollover system, a padded central armrest, shoulder belts, floor mats, air conditioning, parking sensors, a rearview camera, a touchscreen infotainment system, and a McLaren sound system. Exposed carbon fiber lines the lower dash, sills, and floors.

Just throwing it out there, this is likely the best car outside of the 675LT that McLaren has ever made. The windshield car in particular, is epic. What a pure experience! I am eager to see how this goes.

@joepags - it's not a $250k windscreen, that's just worded oddly. Look at the window sticker - the green tinted CF bodywork was $250k, windshield was a no cost option.

I find most of the last 10 years of super car design has become a bit boring. The reused look from Ferrari, Corvette, Acura, Lamborghini, etc, but this is different. Similar, but different. I love the bulging fender tops, sculpted sides, muscular quarter panels and the driver and passenger headrest fairings. Anynone one of those details alone would have been fine, but together they make for a truly spectacular looking machine.

As I’ve said a few times before, I’m a serious fan of McLaren. Like Lexus with the LFA they don’t always read the market but their best cars are amazing. No, more than amazing.
I remember when the F1 was released. It wasn’t widely accepted. I think Leno bought his discounted about 20% off list with a couple thousand miles on the clock. But serious racers loved it and got McLaren to build the F1 GTR which I think was the only reverse homologated winner at La Mans. What’s funny is that the GTR had less horsepower than the original F1. Yeah, rules.
I would include the Senna but it’s design is so busy it reminds me of the C8. p.s. I don’t need any hate comments, it’s just my opinion.
The P1 is period great. One of the 3 hybrid amigos but not my favorite McLaren.
The F1 Speedtail is so beautiful and unique I have to ignore the hybrid add on. No one asked any of us to buy one. They were all sold before built. Unlike the original F1 this is not a race car it’s a piece of art.
And now let’s talk about this Elva. It’s a non-hybrid beast. 2500 lbs and 800 hp. In Mclaren style they released it without a windscreen. Wear your googles man! And then COVID hit. The combination of unconventional design ideas and bad luck made Mclaren lower production from 399 to 149. Bad luck for McLaren, good luck for McLaren collectors.
Look at this design, the heritage, the happenstance of rarity and the timing. In another decade, no one I would take seriously will doubt the respect this car deserves.

This is the prettiest Elva I’ve seen to date. Only reason to buy these was that you were given a W1 allocation and became a McLaren VIP. That’s why the secondary market is soft on these. Gorgeous car just too darn expensive for a roofless car.
