United States Lot # V-000238 Ended 141 Bids & Comments
Description Bids & Comments

Presentation

This 2017 Ferrari F12berlinetta was specified with ~$75k in options, including the Adaptive Frontlight System, the front-axle lift system, red-finished brake calipers, Scuderia Ferrari fender shields, carbon-fiber interior trim, red seat belts, and carbon-fiber race seats with red Cavallino Rampante embroidery on the headrests. It has 12k miles and has spent most of its time registered in Texas and Georgia. Finished in Bianco Avus over Nero leather and Alcantara with red stitching, the car is powered by a 6.3-liter F140 V12 connected to a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transaxle and an electronic limited-slip differential. Additional equipment includes 20″ Y-spoke forged wheels, carbon-ceramic brakes, a JBL Professional sound system, and dual-zone automatic climate control. This F12berlinetta is now offered by the selling dealer, a BaT Local Partner, with a window sticker, a car cover, a clean Carfax report, and a Florida title.
The F12’s bodywork was penned at the Ferrari Styling Center in collaboration with Pininfarina, and the car features an aluminum space-frame chassis. This example is finished in Bianco Avus, and features include xenon headlights with the Adaptive Frontlight System (AFS) along with Scuderia Ferrari fender shields, round LED taillights, brake-cooling ducts, quadruple exhaust outlets, a four-finned rear diffuser, and a body-color Aero Bridge downforce channel.
The 20″ Y-spoke forged wheels are mounted with Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires. Stopping power is provided by red-painted calipers over cross-drilled carbon-ceramic rotors. The car is equipped with a magnetorheological suspension as well as a front-axle lift system. The brake fluid was flushed in July 2026.
The carbon-fiber race seats feature red Cavallino Rampante embroidery on the headrests and are trimmed in Nero leather and Alcantara with red stitching, while matching trim extends to the dashboard, door panels, and center console. Amenities include carbon-fiber trim, red seat belts, a foldable rear shelf, navigation, a JBL Professional sound system, a back-up camera, and dual-zone automatic climate control.
The leather- and carbon-fiber-trimmed flat-bottomed steering wheel fronts paddle shifters and features a manettino drive-mode selector, an ignition button, and additional controls. Instrumentation includes a central 10k-rpm tachometer and dual multifunction display screens. The digital odometer indicates 12k miles.
The 6.3-liter F140 V12 is mounted aft of the front axle line and was factory rated at 731 horsepower and 509 lb-ft of torque. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transaxle and an electronic limited-slip differential. The oil was changed and the battery was replaced in July 2026.

@2FAM - I agree with you very much given the relatively low production numbers on the F12 and the analog feel combined with supercar performance and sound, it is already becoming valued as acollector's car and not just a used Ferrari

Now that we are past the amount I'd be willing to buy this back, figured I would chime in. I owned this car for the past two years. It's a great car, and pretty comfortable. It had a full Fi Exhaust system on it while I owned it. Sounded absolutely amazing. I had the sticky buttons redone a few months ago, and it also got an oil change and new battery. It has also had the variators replaced about a year ago. That was not cheap. For those curious about the monthly Ferrari services, it was stored at Ferrari of Atlanta for several years. The owner was overseas, so Ferrari started it monthly. I guess that made it into the Carfax as a service. All in all, it is a great car. Still have a ways to go to hit reserve I'd imagine...

@burnett_GCS615 - The F12 hits all the boxes - supercar speed and track performance - easy to get in and out and comfortable enough for long rides without needing a chiropractor, the analog feel, and perhaps the best-sounding - deepest, richest, and most musical; spectacular high rpm V12 version of this engine

I do have the 2002 BMW. Drove it yesterday along with my 1965 E Type Series 1, FHC 4.2, Mighty Roar Slalom Racer (a true 1 of 1). It was a beautiful day! 😏💪
But regarding my initial comment, I was referring to the lack of any significant mechanical changes among the F12 Berlinetta production line cars from 2015-2017. Some people may bring up commemorative editions as being 1 of 799, etc. But that is not my point. Many people don't realize these production year line up vehicles were ALL relatively low in number and individually specd, also making them 1 of 1. I think this reality is greatly contributing to the resurgence of interest in most any nicely specd, maintained and relatively low mileage F12?

@WestelyGibson @BLKLZD - Upon further thinking, there were two other differences in the 2017 F12 - 1- the trunk-mounted presentation plate listing the specifications of the car, and 2 - the 70th Anniversary Tailor-Made cars
And a side question: do you still have the 2002 BMW Westley - my father owned one when I was a young boy

BLKLZD: You are applying that principle incorrectly to this specific car model, in its last few years of production. I am clarifying that the mechanical differences (2015-2017) are not significant.

Six Sigma is a proven process in manufacturing, and Ferrari and all car companies manufacture a product. Assembly gets better with time vs day one on the job, and process out the errors. Six Sigma will help you redefine all processes to manufacture a better product. My comment is not just specifics to the F12, but to the concept of Six Sigma which is a process in all manufacturing. It’s just an engineering/process fact. If you don’t get better at what you do with each widget you build you will be out of business, or you will not design out flaws. Too much to unpack here as I can’t write a thesis, and that requires a cocktail. Bottom line I will take any end of line product vs first on line.

@WesleyGibson, very wise words. I agree that the cars are almost identical — the alternator belt change is the only minor improvement, and the only cars with the real issue are the 2013 and early 2014 models. I disagree with @BLKLZD and would ask him to cite any improved components from, say, a 215 F12 to a 2017 F12 other than the radio display and accessory belt. Ferrari basically continued the F12 with the same drivetrain and body through production. 2017 has some minor changes, and the end of the run brings that slight premium price. The main thing is that the engine, transmission, and body are identical

@wesleygibson, actual I respectfully disagree. End of the line production from an engineering perspective is better at the end of the line. I spent 33 years in aviation, and we purposely procured aircraft end of line.
Processes improve, and manufacturing flaws gets removed yearly because of learning and processing out flaws. Long term Porsche owner 911 is basically the same design since 1948, and the flat 6 is still humming. F12’a and 458’s have been bullet period end of line. I tend to never buy first run models due to speed to market, and lack of data/engineering flaws that get reworked. My 2017 F12 has less issues than the prior gen’s and that’s from my Ferrari mechanic who’s a personal friend. Lower milage cars aren’t better vehicles vs cars with drive miles due to the engine needs to wear and fluids need to flow to sustain lubrication. Milage is mental gymnastics, and most issues are found within the first 1k miles. If I buy used I want a car north of 5k miles.

Bringing some Realism to the F12: "End of Line" production cars provide a psychological premium of $10K-$15K. There is no mechanical advantage from one year over another in the last 5 years of their production. Full electric Daytona Sport seats are most desirable by Owners who don't Actively Track their cars, due to the harsh carbon fiber seats. An earlier model F12 that is well specd and maintained with lower mileage (~5K), will always be more sought after, than a later, similar specd one with higher mileage (~10K+).

Some 2016s also have the updated display software and that same software can be uploaded by the dealer to the 2016s that don't have it. The F12 in general is one of the most reliable Ferraris ever made. There are hardly any TSBs on them and they require only basic maintenance. Mine has 42K miles and after 10 years of use it's as good as new. Took it out in the canyons this morning, nothing comes close to the amount of adrenaline an F12 can produce :) The highest bidder on this car certainly won't be disappointed.

@TeslaJames - it's hard to find that technical bulletin through a Google search. I found it using ChatGPT. It seems like the early 2013 and 2014 models required a tensioner upgrade; late 2014 and through 2016 had no recommended revision, and in mid 2017 they switched to a larger belt — all based on engine number. It also seems like the 2017 has an updated display for the radio and the left-hand engine functions as well, so no wonder the 2017s are the best of the breed and command a premium

I refer you to Ferrari Technical Bulletin #2545, issued in January 2019, which states that the accessory belt upgrade depends on the engine number and not the chassis number. To the best of my understanding, the engine number is not the chassis number

@NikoCars - I was going to predict Texas or Florida - it sure is hot there.
Despite your few problems with 21,000 miles of fun, I think it's not unexpected for a few mechanical issues to come up.
MAIN POINT - this chassis number is one of the very last F12' s produced and most likely already has the larger timing belt setup you described - only by engine number can it be 100% verified, but I think you are raising an issue that is not applicable to this late-year run car - the cut-off was engine number 304141- this may be one additional reason why 2017 F12's carry a premium price over the previous years

@alfriedeq, it had 14000 miles when I bought, 21000 when I sold it so did a few miles. The earlier cars alternator belt is prone to snap, if you search online you will see some input on this. Ferrari sell a upgrade kit with wider belt, pulleys and a different alternator. Yes, you are right ref the buttons, they send them in for refinishing. Texas here so hot and humid for the buttons!

@NikoCars
How many miles did you put on your F12, and what state do you live in?
They just replaced my belts last year with regular maintenance—it's an external accessory belt, not a big deal. The reason why it takes so long to do all the sticky buttons is they have to take everything apart — ship it to Sticky RX and then wait about 2-4 weeks for the refinished parts to come back and reinstall

@alfriedesq, I agree the engine is very good. Only issue I had over the years was the alternator belt that snapped a couple of times. I did the upgrade kit with the wider belt and never had the issue again. Believe later cars had the wider belt from factory. Also had a NVO Circuity board failure in the steering wheel, but thats about it. Know some people have been troubled with the gearboxes also. On the sticky buttons, I would definitively recommend buying a car which has it done, Ferrari also asked to keep the car for months to do that scope, doing it yourself is not a small DIY to refinish everything and paint it properly. On the 812 interior, believe the build quality has been improved, at least that was my impression from the 812 I have seen. In general believe Ferrari interior has improved significantly over the last 5-10 years.

@NikoCars You may prefer the design in the 812 interior - however - every Ferrari is likely to have leather issues if left in the heat, and yes, the 812 has its share of sticky buttons as well - it all depends on time. My car has only 6,000 miles, so everything is in good order - I changed out the dash insert and the three shifting buttons, but it was not too costly - especially on a car which has doubled in value in the time I have owned it - considering the stickey bottons are a one time expense, it's not too bad, especially since this motor can remain in place for a really long time with just regular maintenance. I have found mine to be super reliable, with no issues to date — my daily driver Mercedes has had more issues LOL — I think the f12 is noted for its reliability

@BLKLZD - Thanks for the wonderful video - nothing beats the sound and feel of the F12! Docile enough to take grandma to dinner and wild enough to beat many supercars — it is very fast, too. Although I have never gone over 150, it got there quickly. The best part is the broad power band and deep low TQ; no need to shift down — just roll into it in 5th or 6th gear, and it just goes

@BLKLZD - they made fewer F12's, and to me it sounds better than the 812 - also, it was the last with hydraulic steering and the last Pininfarina-designed Ferrari ever

@houae23 I would prefer a careful owner who sent the car to tthe dealeroften and regularly to someone who just let it sit in a garage - the 2nd owner was probably a car fanatic and wanted to take advantage of the free warranty to solve any little issue

Carfax shows during most of the few years under the 2nd ownership it was at the dealership for service literally once a month. Is this normal?!

2017 is the last year of the F12, and last Pininfarina design, and less emissions than its predecessor.

I picked up a 2017 TDF blue f12 in April. It’s a truly amazing car with explosive acceleration and so comfortable to drive. It had 5800 miles on the clock and I’m the 2nd owner. These cars are skyrocketing in value and I think will continue. Ferrari, IMO has lost their way with all the hybrids, turbo and now electric variants. Normally aspirated ICE Ferraris are hotter commodities and values should continue to rise for some time.

Nice car. Had an F12 for about 3 years and really liked it. It had its flaws though, in particular the interior quality was rather poor. As soon as I fixed one leather panel, another air bubble would appear somewhere else, and it's not easy to fix or have repaired properly. The dealer quoted me over USD 20k to fix the sticky buttons...It will be interesting to see what it sells for, as the prices appear to have doubled in 6 months, the inventory followed and also doubled :) I think I would rather look at the 812 if prices become similar, the build quality is much better.

I panic sold my 2013 Blu America F12 when I got my cancer diagnosis two years ago. Biggest regret of my remaining days. Thought I'd fill the gap with a 2025 GT3 RS last year. The Porsche is an amazing beast, but my heart still aches for the F12 where current values have doubled over what I was able to achieve. IMO, it's Ferrari's best iteration of the normally aspirated 12 cyl.

I have a similar spec 2017 F12 with 8,000 miles. Bought last December and interesting to see what this one brings given the current insane high bubble market. The F12s are fantastic cars, and I would not sell mine despite it likely being worth near double what I paid. There is no other Ferrari model I would want [that I could afford]. The successful bidder is going to be very happy.

This is a watcher for me, I love F12’s and it’s one of the best cars I’ve owned. I have a similar spec 2017 Bianco Italia 456k spec with 8k miles. Cant wait to see what this goes for I’ve turned down 4 offers. Good luck!!

Oh boy, what a fierce Florida Ferrari F12berlinetta, dynamite rocking white. An exhilarating example, and seriously cool. Speaking of which, the @seller is a cool dude - GLWTA!
