25k-Mile 2005 Mercedes-Benz SL55 AMG

This 2005 Mercedes-Benz SL55 AMG has remained registered in Florida since new and has 25k miles. It is finished in Diamond Silver Metallic over Ash leather and is powered by a supercharged 5.4-liter V8 paired with a five-speed automatic transmission. Equipment includes a power-retractable hardtop, bi-xenon headlights, Active Body Control suspension, 18″ wheels, Keyless Go, a Bose sound system, and navigation, along with heated, ventilated, and massaging multi-contour seats. The car was sold on BaT in December 2024 and was acquired by the current owner on the site in May 2025. This R230 is offered on consignment by the selling dealer, a BaT Local Partner, with a clean Carfax report and a clean Florida title.
The car is finished in Diamond Silver Metallic (762) with AMG bodywork including a revised front spoiler, side skirts, and quad exhaust outlets. Equipment includes a power-folding convertible hardtop, a deployable roll bar, and optional bi-xenon headlights. A rear spoiler and an aftermarket grille have been installed. There is a color variation between the jack point covers and the rocker panel extensions, and an area of touched-up paint is present on the trunk lid.
The 18″ AMG five-spoke alloy wheels were refinished and fitted with replacement Pirelli P Zero tires in August 2026. The car features Active Body Control suspension, an Electronic Stability Program, Automatic Slip Control, and an AMG High Performance Braking System with cross-drilled rotors.
The heated, ventilated, and massaging multi-contour seats are upholstered in Ash leather (288), and wood trim accents the center stack and door panels. Details include dual-zone automatic climate control, cruise control, Keyless Go, a Bose sound system, and COMAND with navigation. A tear in the driver’s seat upholstery was repaired under previous ownership.
The leather-trimmed steering wheel frames a 200-mph speedometer, a 7k-rpm tachometer, and gauges for coolant temperature and fuel level. The digital odometer indicates 25k miles, approximately 900 of which were added under current ownership.

We did inspect the convertible top hydraulics and did not find any leaks or issues with them. I don't have any service records for the top hydraulics. There are no unusual noises from the ABC pump and no leaks on the car. No warning lights are on. We did note that the headlight washers are inoperable, and the massaging seats are inoperable. Other than those two items, this is a clean, ready-to-go car.

Has the convertible-top hydraulic system been inspected or serviced, and are there any signs of hydraulic fluid leakage around the headliner, A-pillars, roof cylinders, or trunk? Are there currently any ABC warning messages, visible hydraulic leaks, or unusual noises from the ABC pump? Are there any visible engine, transmission, coolant, or other fluid leaks underneath the car? Does the car currently have any warning lights or known fault messages? Since 2FAM is also a service facility, has your service department performed any inspection of the car beyond the August work listed in the auction? If so, did they identify anything that will need attention? Thank you!

I don't have any additional records for this SL55, so I'm not sure when the power steering, suspension, etc. were serviced. All of the buttons inside work, and the suspension does not settle after sitting. There is no window noise from the windows.

Does the suspension settle to the ground after a couple of weeks of standing? Does the wind whistle between the side windows at speed?

Hello, sir! Do you know if any work has been done on the hydropneumatic suspension? The hydraulic power steering? The timing chain kit? When was the last time the supercharger oil was changed? Does the engine start button on the automatic transmission shifter work? Are all the buttons in place inside and do they all work?

Why did the seller replace the original grille w/ the Temu-aftermarket grille? Did he run into something with the car?
