This 2023 Mercedes-AMG GT2 utilizes an aluminum spaceframe with bodywork finished in silver and is powered by a 707-horsepower twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V8 linked with a six-speed sequential transaxle. Styling incorporates a roof hatch, a ducted hood, a front splitter, fender vents, a rear diffuser, a single-level multi-adjustable rear wing, and underbody aerodynamic components. The cockpit houses a single carbon-fiber seat box fitted with a Schroth multi-point harness in addition to a roll cage, a fire suppression system, a yoke-style steering wheel, and a Bosch DDU digital display. Other equipment includes 18″ forged aluminum center-lock wheels, Pirelli racing tires, AP Racing calipers, and adjustable coilovers and sway bars. The clutch assembly was replaced in preparation for the sale. This AMG GT2 has 2,900 kilometers (~1,800 miles) and is now offered on a bill of sale by the consigning dealer, a BaT Local Partner, in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
Launched in late 2022 to bridge the gap between the Mercedes-AMG GT3 and GT4, the GT2 was developed to the technical GT2 regulations of the SRO Motorsports Group. It was marketed as the most powerful homologated race car ever offered to privateers by Mercedes-AMG for their Customer Racing program.
The car is built on an aluminum spaceframe with bodywork finished in silver. Equipment includes a revised front fascia with enlarged air intakes in addition to a ducted hood, a carbon-fiber front splitter, front canards, ventilated front fenders, side-skirt extensions, a driver extrication hatch, a rear diffuser, and a single-level multi-adjustable rear wing.
The center-lock 18″ AMG forged light-alloy wheels are finished in black and mounted with staggered Pirelli racing tires. The coilovers and anti-sway bars are manually adjustable, and the braking system consists of 390mm front and 355mm rear ventilated and slotted two-piece rotors, AP Racing calipers, and dual master cylinders equipped with a balance bar.
The cockpit is equipped with a single carbon-fiber seat box with removable cushioning accompanied by a Schroth multi-point harness. The carbon-fiber center console incorporates a switch panel with adjustments for the anti-lock braking, brake bias, and traction control systems. Additional equipment includes a roll cage, an OMP fire suppression system, Motorola two-way radio components, Safecraft safety nets, a Racelogic VBOX camera system, and a Progressive Motorsport drink system.
The yoke-style steering wheel is equipped with air-assisted shift paddles and various vehicle control switches. It is mounted on a quick-release hub ahead of a Bosch DDU digital data-logger, which gives readouts for engine RPM, shift points, lap times, and fuel estimates. The digital odometer displays 2,900 kilometers (~1,800 miles).

In terms of spares, you mention 4 sets of wheels, which is great, but do they have tires on them?
There should be a center-lock wheel nut, air-jack safety cages, an MSA cable (as well as other cables for electronics), and a red-head for fueling. Are any of these items included, or are we out of pocket for those?

I have been curious as to the meaning behind the AMG acronym so I did some research. For other inquiring minds, here’s what I found:

It will be most interesting to see the final number this car brings. Given its specific use may reduce bidding and enable more "regular" people to buy at some reasonable figure. Reasonable being the key word. Regardless, having built race cars and rear-engine dragster engines, I must say every single part on this car shows purpose... delightfully and technically beautiful. stunning car. one of the best sounding engines on the circuit ( up there with the Bentley GT3. Imagine this with the AMG GT3 aero kit and more active downforce. It would be brutal. The only lmitiationof this car for me is lack of classes to race it in. While it is an FIA homologated class, the predominant GT3 and GT4 classes have a lot more race options. I hope it gets used in anger somewhere coz the smile factor will be amazing
