This Guards Red 1998 Porsche 911 Carrera S coupe was optioned with Aerokit II front and rear spoilers, hardback front sport seats, sport suspension, and the Motor Sound Package. Showing 41k miles, it has remained registered in California for the prior 22 years and is powered by a 3.6-liter flat-six paired with a six-speed manual transaxle. Further equipment includes 18″ hollow-spoke “Technology” wheels, a sunroof, a CD stereo, a carbon-fiber-trimmed steering wheel, cruise control, and air conditioning. Purchased in 2026 by the selling dealer from its long-term prior owner, this 993 C2S is offered with manufacturer’s literature, a clean Carfax report, and a clean California title.

The 993 C2S featured wider bodywork, a split rear grille, and revised bumper covers and side skirts in comparison with the contemporary Carrera, and this example is finished in Guards Red (L84A) and was ordered with Aerokit II front and rear spoilers. Additional exterior details include headlight washers, fog lights, power-adjustable mirrors, a power-operated sunroof, a rear window wiper, and dual exhaust outlets.

The carbon-fiber-trimmed steering wheel frames VDO instrumentation, including a central tachometer with a 6,800-rpm redline, a 180-mph speedometer, an analog clock, and gauges for oil pressure, oil temperature, oil level, and fuel level. The six-digit odometer shows 41k miles, approximately 450 of which were added under current ownership.

@hooperwp sorry that happened to you. I’m still envious of the car you won and the fact that you paid about 100k less than I would have to pay today for same car!

As we get down to the final couple hours on this beauty... We are located in Monterey right near the airport. Feel free to fly in and drive home. This car is ready to go anywhere. If you prefer transport, we have a few companies we work with on a regular basis and can assist with getting the car shipped anywhere in the world. If you need short or long term storage, we have that available as well! If the buyer is a California resident, the car will have a current smog inspection done before delivery.
Happy Bidding:)

formerly a classic Fcar geek - now have the same spec in black/tan with some aftermarket tweeks and not looking back - literally no need for rear view mirror. sublime.

@Greenlid2 No paintwork and no ppf... These numbers are typical readings for a Porsche of this era. Even the 7k mile '94 Turbo i just sold had similar readings.
Oct 14, 2026 · 13:09
So, I notice paint meter readings all over the board, assuming the 14 was PPF hood, has there been confirmation there was no repaint panels?

@lottacar52 Last year and yes, all the seat controls work.
Oct 14, 2026 · 11:04
Great looking! Question? When was last brake flush and do the seat switches work. Thanks

Gorgeous final year car in proper Guards Red. GLWA 🍿🍺

@RedArcadia
One of the reasons I prefer these at Euro spec ride height is that they get “floaty”, a bit unstable, at 140mph. At least this was the case before I lowered my Viola 993 Turbo.

I like the drive video. Drive it like you stole it!

@dollarbills69 Yes, it is factory.
@BillG993 Thanks for the info! Spot on.

@dollarbills69
Per the hood sticker, yes, the GR stitching is factory. With all the options on this car, there weren't enough placeholders left for all the Z code line instructions on the hood sticker. My guess is if the seller provides a build sheet from Porsche or VA, the rest will be there. The two showing are for the seats and door handles. The other one showing is for the embossed headrests (16981).
With the full leather interior optioned, along with many other special options, this is a very well spec'd car from factory, IMO.
One other interesting thing since this is a '98 MY car. During the '98 MY production, Porsche was gearing up for the 996 and many X options that caused a car to be diverted off the line to the Exclusive Dept for finishing in prior years, did not trigger the diversion during '98 MY production. Porsche was trying to streamline the production so they carried many of those parts on the regular production line that year. As you can see in this case however, the car carries the 09981 designation so it was actually diverted off the line for finishing in the Exclusive Department. Almost surely because of the AeroKit II install.
Good luck with your bidding.

Is the deviated stitching factory?

@hooperwp Sorry to hear that happened to you... Our facility has been building and restoring Porsches for quite awhile and we do thorough inspections before purchasing any car. This car is as dry as it gets. Not only has it been a California garage queen it's whole life, it came from Fresno... Very very dry climate over there. ;)

@CMGYMS I just posted paint meter readings. Yes this is the car that Ali found in Fresno last spring.

Do you have paint meter readings? Is this the car dodi sold? Asking because there is a lot of info on it on YouTube.

@Vince993s As Bill mentioned, the gauge faces and the pedal covers are not OEM but very commonly added to these cars in the 90's. It was a "thing" back then... ;)

@Vince993s
Those gauge faces are a sticker that go over the faceplate. They are aftermarket. There are a few other things on the car that aren't factory, so the gauge stickers aren't the only item. The hardbacks were painted sometime after delivery and the pedal plates are also aftermarket. But they do not take away from this very well spec'd car. It is odd that the only thing missing from the full Aluminum/Chrome pkg are the gauges. But who knows why they weren't spec'd. Regarding your car, a dealer must have put those on at some point as well.

Maybe I'm weird, but I like the stock ride height.

This one checks all the boxes, will command top dollar. A question, the aluminum look gauges are not OEM which have cut outs for the warning lights. Does anyone know if these were available through the dealer or aftermarket? Every other desirable option on this beauty are factory and it is one of the few C2S’s that I’ve seen still at ROW ride height. so it seems odd that an owner would have made this the only modification. My highly optioned Aerokit C4S has those same guages and none of the previous owners installed them!

Agreed on migrating to coilovers. i have this spec in black (plus coilovers, PCCM, short shifter) and took me over a year to find it. Traded a 355F1 but not looking back. VERY nice. GLWTA.

Was this the one dodi auto sold?
Oct 1, 2026 · 18:34
As an owner of an all original C2S, I can confirm they sit higher than expected. We are also just used to seeing most of them on lowering springs or adjustable coilovers at this point. This looks to be well preserved and well optioned example. Best of luck with the auction!

@tdem It measures out at the correct height for a US model... We will let the next caretaker put it down at the euro height. ;)

A great spec that checks a lot of boxes, love the seats. One thing- does it look like it’s sitting a little too high? GLWTA
