738-Mile 2020 Ford GT Carbon Series
Presentation
This 2020 Ford GT was purchased new by the seller and was originally delivered to Mike Dorian Ford in Clinton Township, Michigan, with the 600A “lightweight” Carbon Series package and the $20k Carbon Series Graphics Package that matches the mirror caps to the center stripe and brake calipers. The car is finished in Shadow Black with an over-the-top red stripe over a Carbon interior, and it is powered by a twin-turbocharged 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6 paired with a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transaxle. It is further equipped with an Akrapovič titanium exhaust system, 20″ carbon-fiber wheels, Brembo carbon-ceramic brakes, titanium lug nuts, butterfly doors, a retractable active rear wing, a rear diffuser, and carbon-fiber exterior and interior trim. Work in 2025 included replacing the soft start module and performing fluid changes. Now with 738 miles, this Ford GT is offered with a window sticker, a tool kit, a car cover, a charger, service records, an accident-free Carfax report, and a Michigan title in the seller’s name.
The Chris Svensson-designed second-generation GT debuted at the 2015 North American International Auto Show and entered production in December 2016 at Multimatic’s Markham, Ontario, assembly facility. This example is finished in Shadow Black with an over-the-top red stripe and red upper mirror caps. Additional details include LED headlights, a lightweight Gorilla Glass windshield, butterfly doors, a retractable active rear wing, LED taillights, a rear diffuser, and carbon-fiber exterior trim.
The GT features a carbon-fiber monocoque structure bolted to front and rear aluminum subframes that serve as stressed members for the hydraulically adjustable pushrod suspension system. Variable ride height, front-axle lift system, selectable driving modes, and launch control are standard features. The Carbon Series package saved approximately 40 pounds and features exposed carbon-fiber stripes, carbon-fiber wheels, titanium lug nuts, and a polycarbonate engine cover with increased ventilation. The seller notes that paint protection film has been applied to the exterior.
Staggered-width 20″ carbon-fiber wheels are mounted with Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires. Braking is handled by red-painted Brembo six-piston monoblock calipers over 15.5” carbon-ceramic discs up front, while four-piston calipers are mounted over 14.1” units out back. The brake fluid was flushed in June 2025.
The cabin features Carbon Alcantara over the Sparco seats with manually reclining carbon-fiber shells. Exposed carbon fiber is visible on the dashboard and door panels. The fixed-position driver seat is paired with an adjustable pedal box and steering column, and additional equipment includes automatic climate control and a touchscreen infotainment system.
The Alcantara-wrapped multi-function steering wheel fronts paddle shifters and a configurable digital instrument panel. The digital odometer indicates 738 miles.

@CapitalFFun, just as a fwiw, there were indeed 30 Liquid Carbon. I think perhaps what Raj said to the winning bidder may have been misconstrued. I do have the production data and it would have seemed odd for an entry to exist and somehow not be produced, so I asked him and the plant and they both said they indeed built all 30.
Raj is the best. The 17-22 GT program will always be special because of the legendary figures involved.

I think it’s because of “what” they are for me. I am a hard core ford guy but I love Ferraris. All the rally’s we do we always take 458/488/F8. But if I want to go to a car meet or track a car or out on the town, I’m taking a FGT.
I love Ferrari, I just feel a special connection with the FGT. And for the price, I feel FGT are a steal with the Ferrari market going up as fast as it did.

I have my doubt that if the auction ends and my bid sticks that it will meet the reserve, which would for sure cause the fun police to ruin my day. If the auction ends and my bid sticks, this will be the best deal I’ve gotten in 6 months.
I can dream for the next 2 hours! Haha

Honestly, the only real difference is the full liquid carbon over the whole car, and they made only 28 of them. I bought a 2021 at the Richmond auction last week that had a 823k MSRP which was the highest I had seen so far, it has stripes and the light speed interior. Supposedly 1 of 3. I paid $1.65M plus a negotiated auction fee.
The Carbon edition is the identical car honestly. You get Carbon rims, lots of Carbon on the exterior, 40 pounds of weight savings. Incredible value. We have every model Gen 2 FGT accept the competition edition. The one we drive is a carbon edition because they have everything Ford offered.

I am still scratching my head how a 2005/2006 heritage edition is going for 500-600k more than a gen 2 carbon edition.
I love the Gen 1 FGT’s and have a couple in our collection, but the Gen 2 (in my personal opinion) is the sexiest car built. I purchased a carbon 4 weeks ago for $980k w/1100 miles and felt like I stole it.
Ferrari 488, Ferrari F8, SF-90, 765LT, Aventador, I’m driving my FGT’s all day, every day over any of these. And no need to debate; it’s only my opinion and I also own all of them so am making an intelligent personal opinion.
*all comments are made out of full support of the Gen 2 FGT 😂

@MartyKC thank you. Fuel would have to get a lot more expensive at my current run rate.
Oct 19, 2026 · 23:51
From the window sticker: "You'll spend $3500 per year in fuel costs".. haha.. nope. @ggonzboat GLWA tomorrow.
Oct 13, 2026 · 14:59
@LHC it's a little bit more than 50 per year in the U.S. There was a maximum percentage of the total annual production that couldn't be exceeded in any given model year. Over 4 model years, there were a little over 300 Carbon Series cars produced for all worldwide markets, with just over 200 being delivered in the United States. The Competition car was almost non-existent, with 7 total in MY17/18.
Oct 13, 2026 · 08:16
@Stinger17 Are you thinking of the light-weight, non-A/C version that was offered briefly during early production? I was under the impression that Ford built 50 Carbon Series GTs each year that the option was offered... at least that is what they told me when they were building my Carbon Series GT.
Oct 12, 2026 · 19:09
Ford manufactured just 50 examples of this track-focused variant during the second-generation Ford GT production run (which spanned from 2016 to 2022 Out of roughly 1,350 total second-generation Ford GTs produced, the Carbon Series remains one of the rarest factory specifications.

This is a gorgeous example - love the red accents. It’ll be interesting to see where this one lands. The Carbon Series cars were commanding a significant premium a couple of years ago before the market softened. I have a feeling we’ve seen the bottom on these, and values are starting to climb again.

For the record my comment was half sarcasm/half envy. I dont know how you dont! I daily a 911 gts and people look at me like im crazy for doing that. I could only imagine the looks if you took that to target to grab socks.

If Ford would have given me an allocation, this is what I'd have ordered. Instead I didn't get an allocation and sold my 2005 that would have matched it.
Oct 11, 2026 · 22:51
People don’t realize how undervalued these are. When Ford released it I was biased for them not putting a V8 under the hood, so I kind of overlooked it. After owning one I realized what a special car it really is. Good luck with the auction!
