Presentation

This 1958 Porsche 356A Speedster was refurbished under prior ownership and has been repainted red over tan leatherette. It is powered by a replacement 1.6-liter flat-four paired with a four-speed manual transaxle, and equipment includes a black canvas soft top, a top boot, 15″ steel wheels, a driver-side mirror, body-color bumpers, a cabin heater, and bucket seats. This Speedster was purchased by the current owner in 2023 and is now offered on their behalf by the seller in Rhode Island with side curtains, a reproduction owner’s manual, and a Montana title in the name of the owner’s LLC.

The two-spoke steering wheel frames a central 6k-rpm tachometer, a 120-mph speedometer, and a combination gauge monitoring oil temperature and oil pressure. The five-digit odometer shows 2,700 miles, which is not considered to be accurate. Total mileage is unknown.

The replacement 1.6-liter flat-four is equipped with dual Zenith carburetors and was installed some time ago.

@collelongo uploading photos now. We don’t have the origin history of the engine, but as you can see from service records we made sure to go through the entire car and engine with the 356 experts at SST Auto. Rest assured you are getting a well sorted car ready for many miles of driving.

Beautiful looking Speedster. Can you provide more detailed information about the car? Stampings of the current 1600 Normal engine, the transmission, the chassis stampings near the gas tank, and body stampings "hidden matching numbers".
Is there any information about the location of the original 1600 Super engine?
Thank you.

Hello all and thank you for viewing our charming Speedster. We acquired this for our collection through the 2023 Bonhams Audrain auction, performed a major service at Speed Sport Tuning, and have driven it sparingly since. This Speedster is in great condition and ready to run local tours or regional rallies! We are accumulating all documents for the car and will be uploading soonest. The car will be available for viewing at any point before the auction closes next week. Best of luck bidding!

I’m presuming your beautiful car was taken down to bare metal from the undercoating shown. Do you have any photos of the body during the restoration sir? Thank you,

Color change from Meissen Blue to Red, that's a shame. A speedster in any color looks great but Meissen Blue is really nice.
