Presentation
Representing Porsche's final air-cooled generation, this Japanese-market (RoW) 1995 Porsche 993 Carrera Coupe is finished in Grand Prix White over Black interior upholstery with cloth Porsche-scripted seats. The car features a desirable 6-speed manual transmission, a rare slick-top configuration, air conditioning, upgraded 17" Cup II wheels, and more. Tasteful modifications include Bilstein coilovers with Hyperco springs, a full header-back exhaust system with a cat delete, an RS clutch and flywheel with a tune, a KAAZ 1.5-way limited-slip differential, and 964 Turbo 3.3 brake calipers. Showing less than 149k kilometers (~93k miles), this well-presented example is now being offered for auction in California.
The car is finished in Grand Prix White and rides on upgraded 17" Cup II wheels wrapped in Continental Extreme Contact DSW tires from 2023 and 2025. Exterior equipment includes a headlight washer system and white fog lights, and the car is a factory slick-top with no sunroof. The seller states that the car has been resprayed over the years for cosmetic reasons, with the front bumper fully stripped and resprayed within the last month, and notes that no signs of accident or crash repair were found during inspection. Paint meter readings are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.
Inside, the driver is greeted with Black upholstery and sought-after Porsche-scripted cloth seats featuring electric height adjustment on both sides. Appointments include a split-folding rear seatback, three-point rear seatbelts, driver and passenger airbags, power windows, power steering, radio preparation with a cassette and coin box, and velour carpeting in the luggage compartment. Anti-theft protection is fitted for both the vehicle and the wheels.
Power comes from a 3.6-liter M64/05 air-cooled flat-six rated at 272 HP and 243 lb-ft of torque, paired with a G50/21 6-speed manual transmission and rear-wheel drive. The seller has fitted a number of upgrades, including Bilstein coilovers with Hyperco springs, a full header-back exhaust system with a cat delete, an RS clutch and flywheel with a tune, a KAAZ 1.5-way limited-slip differential, and 964 Turbo 3.3 brake calipers. The seller notes a small oil leak from the camshaft covers, described as a common trait and identified during a pre-purchase inspection, and states that the air conditioning had its refrigerant recharged following the PPI and is functioning in the accompanying videos. All gauges, electronics, and accessories are said to be working properly.
This sale will include the original header-back exhaust system, a clean title, an owner's manual, a toolkit, and a spare tire.

@skipmots The car was not registered or inspected in CA prior, we registered straight in MT with all the original documents from Japan and import documents. To register in CA it needs the required EPA and CARB certification which is a much longer process and cost to get it compliant. Vehicle can be registered in any other states currently either than CA till it goes through the certification.

@GT3Buddy I got the car in June, there were no roll bar in the car or any documents of it prior. Going through all the docs the car had prior, the car had stayed around Tokyo region getting work and service done most of its time through Setagaya, Gunma, Saitama, Aichi, records going back to 2002. The original manufactre warranty card also shows it was sold out of Tokyo Meguro in March of 1995 which we have as well.

@celotola Driving videos, coldstart are all on the listing on top that has been added in Youtube if you click the details in the listing. All whats been done is in the listing, as mentioned in last comment, the PPI shop did not perform the leakdown test as from his tests and experiences the leakdown was not needed as the vehicle indicates holding more than 90 percent, this was done and checked from Johns Foreign Car Service in Laguna Hills.

with the flywheel and clutch replacement (and looks like from the tires) I assume it was tracked? Do you have any driving video? cold start up and idle? would love to see that summary of work done that you mentioned, and/or a copy of that compression test. Thanks!

@celotola I got paperwork and items that been replaced up until 2016, another inspection and service till the car was for sale. Based on our inspection and PPI that was done, there has been a reseal that has been performed as the car had engine out service. The car has lightweight fly wheel and rs clutch so clutch has been replaced to these. The PPI that was done at Johns Foreign Car Service in Laguna Hill stated no leak down test was needed as based on his tests and inspection, its still holding over 90 percent compression.

@OsoShark Hello, it has not been CA CARB/BAR compliant yet at the moment, so the car would not be able to be registered in CA at the moment. Every other state is not a problem as the vehicle is titled in Montana currently. Yes, the whole system from headers, cats, and rear section will be included.

Has the vehicle been California BAR-certified for registration/emissions compliance since being imported? If so, can you please post a photo of the California BAR label and any BAR/referee documentation? Also, when you say the original headers and muffler are included, are the original catalytic converter(s) included as well?

@GT3Buddy Unfortunately I do not have pictures from when the car was painted, I also looked through the stock of records to see if there were a date when it was painted, but did not see any. From the stack of paperwork, service records are up to end of 2016 then a page of summary and list upon inspection when the car was list for sale, from my assumption, car was pretty much stored away as it only increased no more 1000km since then. I have put about 600km since I got it after we had the vehicle inspected, also had a PPI from Johns Foreign Car Service locally in Laguna Niguel, he noted minor leak from the camshaft covers. He did not go in depth to do a leak down as from his testings and experience he informed the car did not need it as it was holding more than 90 percent compression. Car was also looked over by several mechanics and another shop and noted the car was accident free.

@jcar911 The entire car was resprayed based on measurements, most measures around 8 to 14mm only the doors on certain areas had as low as 4mm. The car was imported in early June.

Upon inquiring the vehicle we observed the car was a weekend canyon driver and track machine which we restored and repainted the front bumper along with changing out the track brake pads to oem street pads as well along with the minor upgrades the vehicle has.
