2019 Porsche 935
Presentation
This 2019 Porsche 935 is the 32nd of 77 examples built as a track-only, non-homologated homage to the original 935 racing platform as part of Porsche’s celebration of its 70th anniversary. It was delivered to its first owner via Carousel Porsche of Minneapolis, Minnesota, and it was purchased by the selling dealer in 2026. The car was involved in two on-track accidents in 2021 and 2024, and subsequent repairs performed by Porsche Motorsport North America in Carson, California, included the replacement of body and underside panels as well as wheels, brakes, and suspension components. The car features exposed carbon-fiber-composite bodywork with Agate Gray roof pillars, and power comes from a twin-turbocharged 3.8L flat-six paired with a seven-speed PDK dual-clutch transaxle. Equipment includes a racing-optimized limited-slip differential, Brembo slotted and ventilated disc brakes with adjustable bias, three-way adjustable dampers, a 115-liter FT3 fuel cell, Porsche Stability Management with adjustable parameters, staggered-width 18” center-lock alloy wheels, a roof escape hatch, a rear wing with lights integrated into its end plates, cookie-cutter dual exhaust outlets. Inside, the cockpit houses a welded-in roll cage, FIA-compliant Recaro carbon-fiber racing seats, a laminated wood shift knob, a carbon-fiber multifunction steering wheel, air conditioning, and a Cosworth digital dash. A replacement fire bottle was installed in September 2026. This 991 935 has 2,100 kilometers (~1,300 miles), and it is now offered on a bill of sale in Thermal, California, with over $280k in service records, original sales documentation, literature, the factory spare parts package, and tools.
The 991-based 935 was unveiled in September 2018 at Rennsport Reunion VI at Laguna Seca in California, and it shares its underpinnings with the contemporary 911 GT2 RS while featuring distinct bodywork evoking the Le Mans-winning 935/78 race car. Construction incorporates a steel and aluminum composite shell wrapped in carbon-fiber-composite body panels with flared fenders and a longtail rear profile inspired by the 1978 “Moby Dick” race car.
The exposed carbon fiber bodywork on this example was delivered from the factory with a protective wrap, and it features Agate Grey roof pillars. Equipment includes a front splitter, front and rear tow straps, LED headlights housed within front air inlets, fender louvers, an escape hatch in the carbon-fiber-composite roof, fixed side windows, side mirrors shared with the 911 RSR, a rear diffuser, 908-inspired dual cookie-cutter exhaust outlets, and an adjustable carbon-fiber rear wing with LED lights integrated into its end plates.
The car was involved in two on-track incidents in 2021 and 2024 that resulted in repairs performed by Porsche Motorsport North America in 2021, 2023, and 2024. The 2021 repairs involved installing a replacement front bumper, spoiler, and struts, and further brake and suspension work was completed in 2023. The 2024 service included the installation of replacement wheels, underbody panels, and air ducts. PCNA invoices for the 2021, 2023, and 2024 repairs, totaling $48k, $56k, and $133k respectively, are presented in the gallery along with an October 2026 vehicle service history report.
BBS forged alloy wheels measuring 18×11.5” up front and 18×13” at the rear are finished in black and secured by color-coded center-lock nuts. Michelin Pilot Sport GT transport tires measuring 30/65 and 31/71 are mounted at front and rear, respectively. Two sets of spare wheels and tires are included in the sale. The braking system incorporates Brembo aluminum monobloc calipers with six pistons acting upon 380mm-diameter slotted and ventilated rotors up front and four pistons acting on 355mm rotors at the rear. Front-rear bias can be adjusted via a balance bar, while electronic controls allow adjustment or disabling of ABS, traction control, and electronic stability input.
The cockpit houses a carbon-fiber Recaro racing seat with black upholstery and a Schroth six-point harness. Additional equipment includes a roll cage, a side net with push-button release, black Alcantara dash trim, air conditioning, a fire-suppression system, fuel and electrical cutoff switches, red door pulls, power side-mirror adjustment, and a titanium shifter with a laminated wood knob, the last of which serving as a nod to the Porsche 917. A replacement fire bottle was installed in September 2026.

Super rare and track history too.

Air conditioning is such a luxury in fixed window racers where you're not really concerned with gaining that tenth you might pick up by losing that weight. I'll easily give up that split second to save the hassle of the cool suit lol

A/C is a smart choice. If you’ve been to Thermal, CA in the summer you’d appreciate it!

@Knuckles-R-Busted,
I believe @Mohrimports disclaimer was "a Wild Choice". I do agree that most people, (snap shooters) would never
need another Camera if they are using a modern phone. While my iPhone 17 doesn't quite match up with my '70's
Sinar/Schnieder combo in the resolution department, my
night shots with the 17 are stellar. (Computational math,
I presume.)
My other camera's, a Fuji X-Pro1 and full frame Canon are
seeing less time I my hands. Incredible car, peak Porsche.

Dr. Porsche would approve of EVERYTHING !

If you’re contemplating “why A/C in a 935 track car?”, well it’s so you can be comfortable after you “cock it up” (British term) on track and are waiting for the safety crew to arrive. Beyond impressed that the owner drove this car as intended. Recall the good Dr. Porsche said his cars are meant “to be driven, not polished” (don’t get me started on the new Porsche strategy to move up-market with more exclusive offerings… appropriate for Ferrari- not Porsche). ..and wasn't there a 917 with 1700+ HP in the 1970s
that went 238 MPH on the Mulsanne Straight at LM ? And the LMP Mercedes-Benz that launched itself of a hump along the same straightaway and flew off and out of sight into the woods ? Lot's been learned about downforces since, thank goodness... P.S. Elon's latest Tesla is a rocket-powered flying saucer car !

@MohrImports smart phones have cameras that far outperform anything else that the average person even has access to, so I dont understand your comment. For anyone worried about the on-track damage, good luck finding any car that actually been raced in a competitive manner will have suffered similar and much worse. Good to see the owners being transparent. Regardless, this is amazing.

If there’s ever a global carbon fiber shortage, I think we’ve found the culprit. What an incredible machine!

One of the best private tracks in the world, special cars and clients in every bay, no expense spared around every corner - but shooting this car with an iPhone is a wild choice.

random observation - number descriptors for race car tire sizes are so weird. what a gorgeous car and Echo everybody below, commending the original owner on getting after it on the track.

Hi, the 935 slid off track coming out of a turn and into the dirt. Please see in the photo we posted shows what had to be done. The first time off track I do not have a picture, and looking at the invoice, it was all replacement parts and we posted that Invoice. When you read the repair invoices for the second, it is Factory Porsche new parts R & I, and with the duplicate spare parts including: the front bumper, lower splitter, the lower rear defuser, and other carbon pieces. (All of those spare parts and other additional are gloss PPF clear wrapped) and the lower front bumper undercover panel is included, so now you have these spares. The lower front splitter, the rear defuser, and the mirrors also have the gloss PPF clear wrap on them. Thanks

Those who have the means to own a car like this dont need it to be legal for any racing series to push it hard. Private track days exist, and not solely for pleasure laps. But you're more than entitled to stand by your original statement @The_Baron

I initially thought $10.75 for a #12 panhead screw was a little steep - until I noticed the $14.43 locknut!
Oct 27, 2026 · 10:24
.....almost, but not quite, a pure race car.....the presence of niceties like A/C, speedometer and odometer suggest some of these 935's got registered for street use in jurisdictions with looser restrictions (another not-unheard of possibility....make a financial arrangement with a licensed car lot and drive on a dealer plate indefinitely....it's been done, amhik).....glwta....

@MCTECH @Mr Persnickety @gmmuscleusa (Food for thought) Pushing a car of this magnitude to the limits (110% all the time) in professional competition where points, prize money, big paychecks are involved is expected of all professional drivers. Since this car is not eligible and has never been eligible for any professional events, none of these factors apply. Most likely this was done at a fun track day and by all means this 935 should be driven with spirit and aggressiveness… But, there is no sensible reason to push this car past its limits or the drivers limits at a fun track day……. No professional driver that I know would ever have several "big offs" where this much damage is done at a fun track day, therefore, I stand behind my original comments. Thank you.

The Venn diagram of those with a cool million to plunk down on a track car and those who can drive the snot out of a 700 horsepower beast has very little overlap. Still, I prefer to think that the damage was from pushing too hard - which requires a special type of financial/life-threatening testicularity - rather than just bad driving. Kudos just for getting it out on track! GLWA

I, too, am impressed that this beast was actually tracked (at and beyond the limit) rather than parked in a climate controlled garage and stared at! GLWA!!

This is a stark reminder of where I live in the world of Porsches. The spares package and shipping costs exceed the combined purchase price of my 964 and 996 GT3 about 12 years ago. Much respect to anyone who privately puts $1m on the track and pushes his/her own and the car's limits. I don't live there so I would never criticize those who are lucky enough to have the option and take the risk.
Oct 27, 2026 · 07:26
Looking at the history, I guess I'm not surprised that there's no driving video.
Oct 27, 2026 · 07:26
Respect to the seller for including photo #266. I love that the car has been used as intended rather than stored in a bubble in someone's garage. Thanks for sharing the fun, and best of luck with the auction.

@299e And I very much doubt that the mechanics’ wages increased at that same rate

I’m going to venture to guess that the accident was a one car incident and while the repairs might have been “slightly aggravating” for the owner, cutting checks for those repair bills were no big deal. 😐
Oct 27, 2026 · 04:49
As others have mentioned, it is fantastic seeing one of these actually being used. If I was in this money bracket I would do the same.

There was GT2 RS Clubsport on here that was converted to being street legal, it’d fun to do something like that to one of these Moby Dick cars. You certainly wouldn’t see anything else like it on the streets of Palm Desert.
Oct 27, 2026 · 03:50
@seller What were the accidents, like collisions with an object or someone else? Or was it understeer causing front damage. Based on the replacements (“ replacement of body and underside panels as well as wheels, brakes, and suspension components.”) I am guessing someone didn’t stop in time?

If you're gonna race cars, you're gonna crash cars. Seeing it a little banged up isn't painful. If anything, it's cool that this example has a few battle scars. Many have been condemned to live a life behind a garage door. This 935 is out there getting after it!

And for slightly less than one gazillion dollars you too can try to tame this beast on the track. Of course unless you are Neel Jani or Romain Dumas this machine could find its way back into the armco.
