576-Mile 2014 Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Black Series

This 2014 Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Black Series was purchased new by the owner from the selling dealer, and it now has 576 miles. The car is finished in AMG Solarbeam Yellow over Black leather and Alcantara with red accents, and it is powered by a 6.2-liter V8 linked with a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transaxle and a limited-slip differential. Features include 19″ and 20″ 10-spoke alloy wheels, carbon-ceramic brakes, gullwing doors, a carbon-fiber airfoil, bi-xenon headlights, carbon-fiber interior trim, a rearview camera, heated power-adjustable seats, Keyless Go, and dual-zone automatic climate control, and COMAND infotainment with AMG Track Pace. Service in preparation for the sale included replacing the spark plugs and engine air filter, changing the oil, and flushing the fuel system, brake fluid, transmission fluid, differential fluid, and transfer case fluid. This SLS AMG Black Series is now offered on dealer consignment in New York with a clean Carfax report and a clean Florida title.
The SLS AMG Black Series was unveiled at the 2012 Los Angeles Auto Show and was the fifth Black Series model developed by AMG. The car is 154 pounds lighter than the standard SLS AMG, and features include a wide-body kit, revised aerodynamics, a titanium exhaust system, and a carbon-fiber hood as well as an increase of carbon-fiber components in the drivetrain and spaceframe. This example is finished in AMG Solarbeam Yellow (278U) and features gullwing doors with pop-out handles as well as bi-xenon headlamps, a carbon-fiber airfoil, straked front fender vents, power-folding mirrors, carbon-fiber mirror caps, and polished exhaust outlets.
Staggered-width 19″ and 20″ 10-spoke alloy wheels are mounted with Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires. The SLS AMG Black Series features an AMG Ride Control suspension with electronically controlled two-stage damping, speed-sensitive power steering, and a wider track compared to the standard SLS AMG. Stopping power is provided by AMG-branded brake calipers over carbon-ceramic rotors at all four corners. The brake fluid was flushed in preparation for the sale.
Black leather and Alcantara trim the heated power-adjustable AMG Sport seats while red stitching and accents also adorn the cockpit. Carbon-fiber trim is visible throughout, and further appointments include a rearview camera, a Black Dinamica headliner, Keyless Go, dual-zone automatic climate control, and COMAND infotainment with navigation.
The Alcantara-wrapped AMG Performance steering wheel features aluminum shift paddles and frames a 240-mph speedometer and a tachometer as well as gauges for oil temperature and fuel level. The digital odometer indicates 576 miles.
The hand-assembled 6.2-liter M159 DOHC V8 was revised for the Black Series with modified camshafts, shorter intake runners, and revised valve timing. Output was factory rated at 622 horsepower and 468 lb-ft of torque. Service in preparation for the sale included replacing the spark plugs and engine air filter as well as performing an oil change and flushing the fuel system.

@buybid22 that car didn’t sell at mecum until after the auction iirc. He had just bought it for 1.4 earlier in the year and was shopping it around for a few months. Plus that was August. I’m glad they’re popping. They made more Carrera GT’s than they made of these.

Everyone was asking big $$ but no transactions, until the 180 mile Mars red brought $1,815,000.00 All in and thank goodness Mecum gave us the majority of it to get it done. GOOD LUCK @seller I think this will break 2mil or get really close.

These cars were around 1,000,000-1,200,000 at the beginning of the year and for some reason they just popped. I had a dealer buy my white one that I had listed for quite a while for around $1 million and it had 3600 miles. I don’t know what made them pop in July but they did. I wish I would’ve kept it a little longer.

I think this goes $3m+. I'd say the comp is the murcielago SV that just sold at Monterrey. I know it sounds nuts but in this world it's all about replacement, you will never replace this car. There isn't another 576 mile solar beam sls black series.

Black Series in Solarbeam! If there was such a thing a thing as the SLS GOAT, this would be it. I don't think there were any paid options on U.S. cars other than the color, and maybe the car cover and charger. I think the Euro cars had an option for "race seats".

This probably is the best SLS Black Series in the US. 1 owner, under 1K miles and great spec. My guess is that it will sell for $2M and in 10 years we will look back and say it was a bargain.

My G63 is this same Solarbeam Yellow. Mercedes called it part of the “Crazy Color Edition” when I bought mine. I absolutely love it—it turns heads everywhere. Seeing this SLS reminds me why I chose the color. Sometimes it make me feel like I'm the CEO of DHL!
