Presentation

Among the most distinctive interpretations of Porsche’s air-cooled 911, this 1994 Porsche 911 Speedster is a one-of-one creation combining rare factory origins, notable ownership provenance, and extensive period tuning. Originally one of 427 US-spec 964 Speedsters, this example was sold new to seven-time National League MVP and baseball legend Barry Bonds. During his ownership, the car was transformed into a steel-bodied Mega Speedster by Vittorio Strosek before undergoing a comprehensive redesign by Evomax in Germany (2021). Completed in 2022, its current lightweight carbon-Kevlar bodywork is now finished in Meissen Blue, featuring dramatically flared fenders, integrated cooling ducts, a ducktail rear spoiler, black-housed LED headlights, and exposed carbon-composite aero elements. Included documents list a curb weight of 2,580 lbs upon the car's return from Europe—451 lbs lighter than the US-spec Speedster's original figure. A sculpted double-bubble tonneau cover conceals the light-grey convertible top, while staggered 18-inch multi-piece Fuchs-style wheels wrapped in Michelin Pilot Sport tires complete the exterior presentation.

Beneath the rear decklid, a naturally aspirated 3.8-liter M64 flat-six—first enlarged by renowned Porsche specialist Andial, and subsequently developed by S-Car-Go Racing of San Rafael, California. Extensive internal modifications include a lightweight knife-edged crankshaft, titanium connecting rods, custom racing camshafts, and extensively ported and polished cylinder heads. Additional enhancements comprise a complete Porsche 993 induction system, hot-wire airflow metering, B&B Tri-Flo headers, an S-Car-Go performance chip with a 7,100-rpm rev limit, and an HJS Motorsports exhaust installed during the Evomax conversion. Period documentation indicates combined engine development expenditures exceeding $60k, including more than $26k in work performed by S-Car-Go Racing. A Porsche 993 six-speed manual transaxle transmits power to the rear wheels through a limited-slip differential. Supporting chassis upgrades include KW coilover suspension, Porsche 993 Turbo Big Red brake calipers, cross-drilled ventilated discs, and stainless-steel braided brake lines.

The bespoke cabin is upholstered in a White and Gray leather, highlighted by Porsche 918 carbon-fiber bucket seats with embossed Evomax headrests. Matching leather extends across the dashboard, center console, and rear shelf, complemented by exposed carbon-composite door panels, grey square-weave carpeting, leather door pulls, and a custom leather-wrapped steering wheel. Additional amenities include air conditioning, power windows, and Bluetooth audio. The mechanical odometer currently displays approximately 2,216 miles accumulated since the Evomax conversion. Accompanied by historical documentation, previous ownership records, factory owner's manuals, period calendars featuring the vehicle, and a clean California title, this exceptional 964 Speedster combines celebrated provenance, significant specialist engineering, and distinctive bespoke craftsmanship into a singular air-cooled experience at the highest level.
