1996 Porsche 911 Carrera 4S Coupe 6-Speed
Presentation
This 1996 Porsche 911 Carrera 4S was purchased by the current owner in November 2013 and is finished in Arena Red Metallic over Cashmere Beige leather. Powered by a 3.6-liter flat-six that drives all four wheels through a six-speed manual transaxle with a limited-slip differential, the car is equipped with 18″ hollow-spoke “Technology” wheels, boosted disc brakes with ABS, a power-operated sunroof, Tore Bergvill HID headlights, cruise control, air conditioning, a Sony receiver with Bluetooth connectivity, and a custom aftermarket audio system. This 993 C4S is offered by the seller, a BaT Local Partner, with service records, a spare set of wheels, a spare DME relay, a car cover, a Carfax report, and a clean Minnesota title in the owner’s name.
The 993 C4S features wider rear bodywork in comparison with the standard Carrera as well as a front air dam derived from the contemporary Turbo. This example was finished from the factory in Arena Red Metallic and has been refinished. Exterior details include Tore Bergvill HID headlights with washers, clear corner-marker lenses, a Gert’s front protection bar, brake cooling ducts, heated power-adjustable mirrors, a power-operated sunroof, black rear bumperettes, a speed-activated rear spoiler, a rear wiper delete, and dual wide oval exhaust tips. A March 2020 entry on the Carfax report lists “minor damage” to the front, rear, and right rear of the car, and subsequent bodywork documentation is provided in the gallery below. The owner notes that paint protection film has been added to portions of the exterior, and that a ceramic coating has been applied.
The 18″ hollow-spoke “Technology” wheels are mounted with Bridgestone Potenza tires. The car features an Automatic Brake Differential (ABD), and the 993 was the first 911 to feature multi-link rear suspension. The owner states that a boosted brake system with ABS and larger discs is equipped along with larger Turbo torsion bars. Past work involved replacing the rack-and-pinion steering assembly in 2017, the rear CV axle shafts in 2018, and the rear lower track rods in 2019. The brake fluid was changed in 2022, and replacement front Bilstein B6 Performance struts were installed in May 2023. A spare set of wheels are included in the sale.
The 12-way and eight-way power-adjustable front seats for the driver and front passenger, respectively, are upholstered in Cashmere Beige leather and complemented by a color-coordinated center console, door panels, and carpeting. Carrera 4S-branded floor mats line the footwells, and amenities include cruise control and air conditioning. The Bluetooth-capable Sony DSP receiver is linked to a JL Audio 750-watt, 6-channel stereo amplifier located under the passenger seat, Rockford Fosgate two-way front speakers, ADS rear speaker plates, two 8″ Polk subwoofers in removable enclosures, and two Focal subwoofers.
The leather-wrapped steering wheel frames VDO instrumentation including a central tachometer with a 6,800-rpm redline, a 180-mph speedometer, a Quarz analog clock, and gauges for oil pressure, oil temperature, oil level, and fuel level. The six-digit odometer shows 126k miles, approximately 32k of which were added under current ownership. The horn basket has been replaced.
The air-cooled 3.6L flat-six features a VarioRam intake system and was factory-rated at 282 horsepower and 250 lb-ft of torque. The lower valve cover gaskets were replaced in 2017, the drive belts were replaced in 2024, and the oil was changed in 2026. The secondary air injection (SAI) valve has been replaced during current ownership as well.

Good morning! @senorris08
Regarding picture 153: yes, that spot on the rear carpet is a small singe mark from a previous owner. We can always try and have this repaired and cleaned prior to the new owner receiving the car! Under current ownership since 2013, the car has strictly been a non-smoker vehicle. There are no persistent odors, smoke smells, or any signs of smoking inside the cabin, it smells clean and well-kept!
Please let me know if you have any other questions or if you'd like to set up a FaceTime walkaround!

Good morning, Picture 153 the carpet appears to have a hole and some burn? Are you able to tell what that is? Any smells in the car, nonsmoker?

I am friends with the seller and familiar with the car. This C4S is meticulously maintained with an open checkbook. It presents beautifully with the fresh paint. If you have looked at the photos there will not be any surprises when you see the car in person. The new window and door seals made a world of difference too; it’s much quieter inside than my 993. It is driven enough to keep it healthy, and kept spotlessly clean. If you’re looking for a car like this, this is the car you’re looking for. I’ll miss chasing it around the local back roads, but congrats in advance to the next owner!

Yes it does, assuming that was the wheel in pic 279. Thank you.

Two sets of wheels. Even better

Pardon me, now I see they are chrome. The lighting reflection made them look black at first glance (to me at least). But yes, the extra set. Pic 279 appears to have a different valve stem opening from the rest. Maybe just the angle, but rear pics would confirm.

@Arteryjock From my understanding it was refinished in the factory color of Arena Red Metallic. La Mettrys finished the work in 2020, invoices are in the gallery #255-260. I currently have a request out to them for the specific code they used for the paint. I will get back to you with the paint code as soon as possible. The staining on the exhaust is cosmetic residue mostly likely left over from the leaking valve cover gaskets that were replaced in 2017. There have been no active leaks during our time with the car. @billg993 I believe that you are referring to the chrome extra set? Photo #244 covers the invoice. I can take more photos of the backside and try to better showcase the chrome finish.

Beautiful car. Can you confirm that all of the black wheels are hollow spoke? Pic 279 looks like that wheel is possibly a Turbo Twist solid spoke. Hard to tell with the black paint. Pics of the backside? Thanks

The engine seems to have a lot of oil staining. Can you address this. Also exactly what paint color was used for the re-spray and how old is it and who did it?

@RedArcadia Right, The correct terminology there is anti-roll bars (sway bars). It shares the thicker front and rear Turbo anti-roll bar setup. (@pheintzelman)
Sep 11, 2026 · 14:11
@RedArcadia Right on! Probably the two most defining characteristics separating the Porsche 993 from all of its predecessors was the ditching of torsion bars in favor of a coil over suspension, and the implementation of the sophisticated multiLink rear suspension instead of the previously used semi trailing arm set up. For nerds like me, this YouTube video does a great job of explaining this and other nuances without getting too deep in the weeds. ,

@RedArcadia
I suspect he means anti-roll bars when he says torsion bars. Regarding the brakes it could be worded better but in believe it’s just the turbo brake setup which the 4S got? @Seller?

That Arena red may be the most beautiful Porsche color ever. Nice wagon. Wish I never gave my 993 up. GLWTA. Off to a good start.

Can you explain this: "The owner states that a boosted brake system with ABS and larger discs is equipped along with larger Turbo torsion bars." The 993 does not use torsion bars.

Your video says those wheels are original to car. I swear they look like 996 wheels. I was wrong the last time I commented on 993 wheels, but I really don’t think those are 993 wheels.
