LS7-Powered 1966 Chevrolet Corvette Coupe 5-Speed
Presentation
This 1966 Chevrolet Corvette coupe was refurbished and modified under current ownership with the installation of a 7.0-liter LS7 V8 linked to a Tremec TKX five-speed manual transmission and a Positraction differential as well as a lowered suspension and widened fenders and quarter panels. The car was refinished in blue over black leather and features 18″ and 20″ Ridler wheels, Wilwood power four-wheel disc brakes, Flaming River rack-and-pinion power steering, QA1 adjustable coilovers, side-exit exhaust, Detroit Speed electric headlight motors, LED lighting, Vintage Air climate control, power windows, a multi-camera rearview mirror, and a Bluetooth-capable stereo. The car was previously registered in Pennsylvania and was acquired by the seller in 2021. This modified C2 is now offered in Canada with Ontario registration.
The fiberglass body was fitted with aftermarket widebody front fenders and rear quarter panels before being refinished in blue. The split chrome bumperettes were re-plated, and additional work included installing quad LED headlights with a Detroit Speed electric motor system as well as LED taillights, a power-retractable antenna, dual side-exit exhaust pipes with factory-style covers, and a replacement side mirror, weatherstripping, emblems, and door handles.
Chrome-finished Ridler 606 wheels measure 18″ in diameter up front and 20″ at the rear and are mounted with 265/35 front and 285/35 rear Firestone Firehawk Indy 500 tires. The car rides on a lowered suspension featuring QA1 two-way adjustable coilovers and an oversized QA1 front sway bar up front and an independent rear with Van Steel offset trailing arms, QA1 two-way adjustable shocks, and an Addco sway bar. Braking is handled by a Wilwood power-assisted four-wheel disc system featuring a dual-chamber chrome master cylinder, six-piston front calipers, four-piston rear calipers, and drilled and slotted rotors. Replacement wheel bearings, seals, hydraulic brake lines, and parking brake cables were installed during the chassis overhaul. Flaming River power-assisted rack-and-pinion steering conversion was also completed.
The bucket seats are reupholstered in black leather, and the carpeting, floor mats, kick panels, rear filler panels, headliner, sun visors, and bright trim and fixtures were replaced. Appointments include a Vintage Air climate control system, power windows, lap belts, a center console, cupholders, a rearview camera mirror, and a Vintage Car Audio KHE-300 Bluetooth-capable stereo paired with aftermarket speakers.
An aftermarket steering wheel is mounted on a telescopic column ahead of Intellitronix instrumentation. The digital odometer shows 1,035 miles, which is said to represent the mileage since the build was completed.
The 7.0-liter dry-sump LS7 V8 was installed in 2024 and features a GM E38 ECU, drive-by-wire throttle control, an in-tank Holley electric fuel pump, an aftermarket baffled fuel tank, and an aluminum DeWitts radiator with an electric cooling fan. Custom-tagged wiring harnesses were installed throughout the engine compartment and dashboard, and an OBD-II diagnostic port is located beneath the dash.

At the risk of a large post ... here is a more detailed summary of the build details. The total time invested in this build was approx 1000 hours. - complete "nut-and-bolt" frame off restoration of the vehicle. The car was dismantled down to a bare body and frame and everything on the vehicle was dismantled and refurbished or replaced. Car has just 1000 miles (approx.) on it since rebuild. Bird cage and frame are in excellent condition. - Dynamic Corvettes wide body fenders and quarters. Other body panels are original and have been refurbished & body-worked, including trunk and hood undersides and underbody. - Finished in 2019 Corvette Elkhart Lake Blue Metallic (GM paint code 625D). Very high quality clear was applied (Cromax LE, LE5100S). After body panel work ( straightening, flattening, gapping, etc), paint was done in 7 stages;
• i) primer coat x 2,
• ii) blocking
• iii) base coat (x 4 coats)
• iv) clear coat (x3 coats)
• v) blocking
• vi)final clear coating (x3 coats)
• vi) cut (800 grit wet)
• vii) polish (1000, 2000 & 3000 grit wet, cutting compound, final polishing)
• ** There is a lot of clear material on the car to work with in future polishing endeavors. - bumpers were re-chromed at GG’s Plating in Montreal. Prior to plating, bumpers were shaved and welded-in backside mount brackets were adjusted [in position] for an improved bumper fit against the body panels. New bumper attachment frame hardware was installed to tie the bumpers onto the cars frame. - Frame was removed, sandblasted and epoxied, painted semi-gloss black. Frame innards finished in Eastwood frame-interior spray. All new brake and gas lines installed, along with new emergency brake system components. A new fuel-injection gas tank was installed along with Holley fuel-injection pump hardware. - All exterior badging is new, along with new side-mirrors & door handles
- side exhaust uses stock C2 side pipe covers with new chrome rails. Mufflers are new VettePack (2-1/2” units) for reduced exhaust noise level with new chrome tips. Mufflers are mated to custom 2-1/2” piping into the engine exhaust manifolds. - LS7 dry sump (505 HP/470 lb-ft, unmodified) with E38 ECU and drive-by-wire throttle. Holley fuel injection in-tank fuel pump system with new baffled fuel tank. Dewitts radiator with ECU controlled electric fan. For US bidders: the car will cross the US-Canada border duty and tariff free (i.e. there are not applicable duties or tariffs). I have uploaded emails from several professional cross-border brokers to support this.

The LS7 is a 2009. It is stock, unaltered 505HP/470lb-ft with 7000 rpm redline. I have added the compression test results in the photos for the engine, taken earlier this week.

@seller what is this LS7s history? Is it stock or has there been any performance enhancements? Thank you.

Would’ve been a nice touch to see either a real or simulated L84 radiator core support air intake rather than the “hot air intake“ they chose to use.
