Euro 1972 BMW 3.0CSi 5-Speed
Presentation
This 1972 BMW 3.0CSi spent its life in Italy and underwent a cosmetic refurbishment before being acquired by the current owner in the Netherlands in 2022. Mechanical work was carried out by the seller beginning the following year, including the installation of a five-speed manual transmission and rebuilds of the engine, suspension, brakes, and differential. It is finished in Polaris Metallic over blue cloth and is powered by a 3.0-liter M30 inline-six. Equipment includes 14″ light alloy Alpina wheels wheels, power-operated windows, Supersprint headers, Bilstein shocks, and a Nardi steering wheel. This E9 is now offered by the seller on behalf of the current owner in the Netherlands with service records, spare parts, and Dutch registration in the owner’s name.
The car was stripped to bare metal and repainted Polaris Silver between 2019 and 2020. Rust repairs were performed at that time and the headlights were refurbished.
The 14″ light alloy Alpina wheels were refinished and mounted with 205/70 Falken Ziex ZE310 tires. The brakes were overhauled under current ownership, including zinc-plating and rebuilding the calipers and replacing the rotors, pads, and hoses. Bilstein B6 shocks, CSL-spec springs, and replacement suspension bushings were installed, and the steering box and power steering pump were rebuilt.
The cabin houses front bucket seats and contoured rear seats trimmed in blue cloth. Interior appointments include power-operated windows, a heated rear window, a wood shift knob, and a heater.
The wood-rimmed Nardi steering wheel fronts a 240-km/h speedometer, a tachometer, an analog clock, and gauges for fuel level and coolant temperature. Additional VDO gauges for voltage, oil pressure, engine oil temperature, and differential oil temperature have been added to the center stack. The speedometer was rebuilt under current ownership, and the five-digit odometer shows 44k kilometers (~27k miles). Approximately 5k kilometers (~3,100 miles) have been added under current ownership, with 1k of which have been driven since the refurbishment was completed.
The 3.0-liter M30 inline-six is equipped with Bosch D-Jetronic fuel injection and was rebuilt under current ownership. A Schrick 282 camshaft, oversized pistons, and Supersprint headers were installed at that time and the radiator and starter motor were rebuilt. A stainless-steel exhaust system, electronic ignition, a nine-blade cooling fan, and E24-specification water pump were added and the fuel pump, ignition components, thermostat, and voltage regulator were replaced.

@NE550 : Surely we all hope that this, too, will change starting tomorrow.

This looks to be about as good as it gets for a 3.0 CSi. Unfortunately, for buyers in the U.S., the current import tariff for this car from the Netherlands (or other EU countries, as far as I can tell) would be 25%, per the "harmonized tariff schedule" on the US International Trade Commission website. https://hts.usitc.gov/search?query=EU Ouch!

I've never seen one without headrests. Could they be ordered that way? Any shots of the rocker panels and floors durring restoration?
