United States of America Lot # V-000252 Active 31 Bids & Comments
Description Bids & Comments

Presentation

A departure from prior 911 Targa models, the 993 version was the first to feature a power-operated glass roof panel that retracts beneath the rear window. This example is finished in Black and features projector headlights, headlamp washers, integrated fog lights, heated power mirrors, black Porsche-branded brake calipers, a raised "basket handle" rear spoiler, and dual exhaust outlets. It rides on 17" Targa wheels wrapped in new tires. The seller states that the car has never been in an accident or had paintwork, with paint readings said to confirm original paint, and notes only a couple of small scratches low on the passenger door. Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.

The cabin is trimmed in Black and includes a high-capacity air-conditioning system with defroster vents for the rear quarter windows, fitted as standard on the Targa. Other equipment includes power windows, 8-way power-adjustable front seats, cruise control, and a Porsche CDR-210 head unit. The seller notes that the Targa roof's sunshade has been redone and functions perfectly, and that the driver's seat back requires a stitching repair.

Power comes from a 3.6-liter air-cooled flat-six with VarioRam, factory rated at 282 HP and 250 lb-ft of torque, driving the rear wheels through a 6-speed manual transaxle and an optional limited-slip differential. Standard performance features include four-wheel ventilated disc brakes with ABS. The seller reports a recent service and describes the car as always garaged and driven sparingly in recent years.

This sale will include a clean title, owner's manuals, a toolkit, a spare tire, and an air pump.

The seller would like you to know: "I'm presenting my 1997 Targa, which I've owned for 26 years. I've cared for the car as it deserved, and it is in pristine condition. Unfortunately, at my age it has simply become too difficult to get in and out of, so I've decided to let it go. I hope whoever ultimately gets the car enjoys it as much as I have. Thank you!"

Very sexy in black! Photo 250 of the underside of the hood does not show a sticker listing options and paint code. Any explanation? Does car have motorsound option? Which photo best shows need for stitching behind driver's seat? I can't see it.

@1997Turbo I actually have the build sheet from Porsche, it's just not a sticker. I will post it tomorrow.

@JamminJoe
It is a shame you were never given the maintenance booklet that came with the car originally as it is used as a backup for the hood sticker produced at factory and attached to the hood by dealers before delivery. I guess the next best thing would be to get a VIN Analytics build sheet. But it is puzzling why it is not on the hood. Thanks for the response.

@JamminJoe Since I purchased the car in 2000, It has never had a maintenance booklet. I was looking through the records and actually noticed that the dealership made a note of that after performing a service in 2002. So, sorry about that. I do, however have every record from the time I've owned the car, which is 2000. Thanks.

@1997Turbo not sure about the hood sticker question. Let me get back with you on Monday regarding the maintenance booklet and paint readings.
Sep 12, 2026 · 19:04
@JamminJoe
Any idea why the hood sticker is missing? Could you please post a pic of the one in the maintenance booklet? Description refers to paint readings but I don't see them posted. Are they available?
