15k-Mile 2004 Ferrari 360 Challenge Stradale 6-Speed Conversion
Presentation
This 2004 Ferrari 360 Challenge Stradale is one of approximately 1,300 produced worldwide. It is powered by a 3.6-liter V8 paired with a six-speed manual transaxle that has been converted to manual operation and is finished in Nero DS over Rosso and black Alcantara. Equipment includes a limited-slip differential, carbon-ceramic brakes, 19″ Challenge-style alloy wheels, Challenge-style grilles, xenon headlights, Scuderia Ferrari fender shields, a gated shifter, carbon-fiber sport seats, carbon-fiber interior trim, automatic climate control, a fire extinguisher, power windows, and a CD stereo. The car was previously sold on BaT in November 2019, and a timing belt service was performed in 2023. This 360 Challenge Stradale has 15k miles and is offered by the selling dealer in California with a copy of the window sticker, a clean Carfax report, and a Montana title.
The 360 Challenge Stradale was the track-focused version of the 360 Modena and featured weight-saving measures, including composite bumpers, carbon-fiber mirror housings, and a polycarbonate rear window with carbon-fiber supports. This car is finished in Nero DS and features Challenge-style front and rear grilles, xenon headlights, Scuderia Ferrari fender shields, and quad exhaust outlets exiting through the rear fascia. The front and rear bumper covers were refinished under previous ownership.
Silver-finished 19″ Challenge-style alloy wheels are wrapped in Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires and are mounted to the hubs over aftermarket wheel spacers. The suspension of the Challenge Stradale was specified with lower and stiffer titanium coil springs as well as a thicker rear anti-roll bar than those on the standard 360. Braking is handled by red Ferrari-branded calipers over a cross-drilled and ventilated ceramic-composite rotor at each corner. The brake fluid was flushed in 2023.
The carbon-fiber sport seats are upholstered in Rosso Alcantara with black accents and Cavallino Rampante embroidery on the headrests. The Challenge Stradale came from the factory with reduced sound deadening and without carpeting to save weight. Appointments include a gated shifter, a carbon-fiber center console and door panels, automatic climate control, aluminum pedals, power windows, a fire extinguisher, and a CD stereo.
The three-spoke steering wheel frames a central yellow-dial 10k-rpm tachometer, a 220-mph speedometer, a digital readout for fuel level, and gauges for oil temperature, coolant temperature, and oil pressure. The digital odometer indicates 15k miles.
The mid-mounted 3.6-liter Tipo F131 V8 was factory rated at 425 horsepower and features a flat-plane crankshaft, five valves per cylinder, dual overhead camshafts, and dry-sump lubrication, as well as lighter and higher-compression pistons, a revised intake manifold, and ported intake and exhaust runners compared to the standard 360. Work performed in 2023 included flushing the coolant and replacing the timing belts, associated tensioners, and pulleys, in addition to the water pump gasket, accessory drive belt tensioner pulley, camshaft seals, and spark plugs. The most recent oil change was performed in August 2026.

@NCRSmaniac we do not accept any Montana LLC registrations with any Indigo Auto Group stores...unless you have a MT DL, residence and insurance. However we do not collect taxes on any out of state(CA) cash deals.

Some cars are meant to be driven, not just admired. This is one of them.

"The selling dealer is unable to process title changes for Montana LLCs without a corresponding Montana driver’s license."

I'm surprised more Challenge Stradales aren't being converted to manual. You pay big money for these cars because they're from Ferrari's GOAT era, no hybrid systems, naturally aspirated power, and hydraulic steering. Why not put the cherry on top of that analog sundae with a gated six-speed and a third pedal?

My old car, had that thing 14 years at my place in LA and Albuquerque. Great car and memories. I bought it with 900 miles from Ferrari Beverly Hills. Sold it in 2018 through Ogara.

I have owned more than one black car. I never mind the color, but it's also never my favorite. A bit boring, a bit obvious, just not my first choice. Plus the pain of keeping it clean (water stains are really just a black-car problem). But this very 360 Challenge Straddle might be the most handsome 360 CS I have seen so far. Yes, in black, no stripe, true, and the grille blends in, I know. But I am serious. It's so clean, elegant, no fuzz, just a touch of color from the seats. I love it. Best looking 360 I can remember. Hands down. And then it's a manual. Speaking of cherries on top....

Swap was done at Graham Rahal about a year ago. It shifts quite healthy and smooth! We do have the OEM pump and hydraulic cables.
