Turbocharged S50–Powered 1994 BMW 318is Coupe 5-Speed
Presentation
This 1994 BMW 318is coupe was acquired by the selling dealer in 2023 and fitted with a 3.2-liter S50 inline-six as well as a custom Garrett turbocharger setup as part of a build completed in 2025. The engine is said to be fitted with forged connecting rods and pistons, and other highlights of the project include a front-mount intercooler and a custom 4″ exhaust system along with an M3-sourced Getrag five-speed manual transmission, limited-slip differential, and subframes. Finished in silver, the car wears aerodynamic bodywork and rides on 17″ BMW Style 22 wheels coupled with Bilstein dampers at all four corners. Inside, retrofitted power-adjustable Vader sport seats upholstered in black leather are accompanied by an LG CD stereo as well as dual-zone climate control, an onboard computer, and a power sunroof. Previously offered on BaT in May 2026, this turbocharged E36 coupe is now offered again by the selling dealer at no reserve in Athens, Greece, with an uninstalled billet exhaust manifold and Greek registration documents.
The car left the factory finished in Arctic Silver Metallic (309). It wears aerodynamic bumpers, side sills, and mirrors along with post-facelift kidney grilles and a rear spoiler. Work as part of the aforementioned project is said to have involved installing M3-sourced glass, rebuilding the power sunroof, and repainting the trunk lid along with the rear quarter panels. Halo-style headlamps are paired with fog lights up front, and further details include clear corner markers, dual exhaust outlets, and M3 badging. The front bumper is damaged ahead of the left-front wheel, and the rear bumper is misaligned. A portion of the seller-provided photos were taken in November 2025, and the seller notes the car has not accrued any mileage since the May 2026 auction.
The 17″ BMW Style 22 wheels have been refinished and are mounted with 225/45 Kenda tires. The car rides on a lowered suspension with Bilstein dampers, and the seller tells us that the power steering pump and four-wheel disc brakes were replaced in the course of the build.
The cabin is outfitted with power-adjustable Vader sport seats upholstered in black leather, which extends to the rear bench. An LG CD stereo and AC Schnitzer “short shift” knob have been added, and further appointments include dual-zone climate control, an onboard computer, and power windows. The seller notes that the headliner was also re-trimmed as part of the project and that the air conditioning compressor has been replaced.
The three-spoke steering wheel frames a retrofitted M-branded instrument cluster sourced from an Italian-market example that incorporates a 280-km/h speedometer, an 8k-rpm tachometer, and auxiliary readouts. Daemon exhaust-temperature and boost-pressure gauges have been added to the center stack along with a GReddy boost controller. The digital odometer indicates 173k kilometers (~107k miles), approximately 5k kilometers (~3k miles) of which were added under current ownership. True mileage is unknown.
The seller tells us that the 3.2-liter S50B32 inline-six was built with an M3-specification crankshaft as well as forged connecting rods and pistons as part of a 2024 overhaul that included installation of a replacement alternator and VANOS components.

And is the engine registered in the registration documents or does it still state that it is a 1.8? Valid tech inspection? Thanks.

Hi, very cool build. Is it possible to retrofit the air filter? Is the engine registered in the registration documents or does it still state that it is a 1.8? Valid tech inspection? Thanks.

@Ptrbholland send me a pm to discuss import procedure . Can’t find the chart or else I would have uploaded here . But it produced 500@0.9 bar . The car has 2 bar capabilities but it’s really scary at that level

Can you send me a quote for shipping to NL,
Also, has anything changed since the last listing? I would love to see a HP-output chart, could you arrange one?

I like the idea of this build, but I'd be curious how well all that power puts down on the road. Definitely not a subtle 318is anymore.
