Presentation

This golf cart was built to resemble a Ford Model T and was ordered new from Yatian in China. Power comes from a 5kW electric motor paired with a 48-volt battery system. The cart features black bodywork over matching upholstery as well as forward and reverse settings, hydraulically assisted front disc and rear drum brakes, and a parking brake. Additional equipment includes projector-beam headlights, turn signals mounted in faux lantern housings, a black soft top, a woodgrain-look firewall, seat belts, an hour meter, and a battery indicator. This Model T-style golf cart is offered in Boca Raton, Florida, with a bill of sale.

The bodywork replicates that of a Ford Model T and is finished in black with gold accents. It features a gold-finished radiator surround and folding windshield frame, radiator script, projector-beam headlights, turn signals mounted in faux lantern housings, dual side-view mirrors, a black soft top, and taillights.

The gold-finished 13″ multi-spoke wheels are mounted with steel-belted radial tires. A matching spare wheel with a different tire is stowed on the right side of the hood. The cart features a transverse front leaf spring and dual leaf springs at the rear, and stopping power is provided by hydraulically assisted front discs and rear drums.

The front and rear bench seats are trimmed in black upholstery with button-tufted seatbacks. The cart is equipped with black-finished diamond-plate floors and front and rear lap belts. The three-spoke steering wheel fronts a battery indicator and an hour meter mounted in the woodgrain-look firewall, with the latter indicating 99 hours of runtime.

@bobhoughton It’s approximately 79 inches tall with the top up. The top is removable for easy transport, and the windshield and frame can also be folded down.

And yes, you read that correctly. One did sell for $110,000. I was there personally and witnessed the sale.

@Southdakotadave I never actually clocked it, but if I had to estimate, I’d say it was somewhere in the 20s. It definitely feels like it’s electronically limited for safety, so in theory, you could probably make it go quite a bit faster.

@LydoFern Yes, all the buttons and lights are fully operational. I haven't noticed any abnormality in person; the Tires appear to look the same.

@ojibway The other two batteries are located in the front compartment, under the hood where the engine would normally be on a Model T. The vehicle has a total of six 8-volt batteries, which together make up the 48-volt system.

@seller The data plate and description say it’s a 48 volt system, but there are only four 8-volt batteries pictured supplying 32 volts. Are there more batteries somewhere or is it running on the wrong voltage or batteries or ???

@Captainclink I don’t know the exact range, but I would expect it to be similar to a standard golf cart. I did not clock the top speed, but if I had to estimate, I would say it is electronically limited to around 25 mph.

@LarryLaPatka I don’t believe the hood opens the way it would on a Model T. The batteries are located underneath the front seats. There is also a storage compartment beneath the rear seat, as well as storage in the trunk area.
