Presentation

This 2008 Porsche 911 GT2 is one of approximately 194 examples imported into the United States for the model year, and it is finished in Carrara White over black leather and Alcantara upholstery. Powered by a twin-turbocharged 3.6L flat-six paired with a six-speed manual transaxle, the car has been modified with Do88 Performance intercoolers, a Protomotive ECU tune, and stainless-steel coolant pipes as well as a RSS Tarmac Stage II suspension and a Porsche Classic PCCM+ infotainment system. Equipment includes the Sport Chrono Package, a locking differential, Basalt Black–finished 19″ wheels, carbon-ceramic brakes, a rear wing, heated power-adjustable seats, a Bose sound system, and automatic climate control. The GT2 was sold new by Porsche Newport Beach in California, and the seller purchased the car in 2019 and has since added approximately 6k of its 25k miles. This 997.1 GT2 is now offered with a clean Carfax report, manufacturer’s literature, service records, removed factory parts, a lithium battery trickle charger, and a Texas title in the seller’s name.

The GT2 features an aluminum trunk lid and doors and can be visually distinguished by a fixed rear wing with integrated intakes, a revised front bumper with enlarged inlets, and a front lip spoiler. This example is equipped with xenon headlights and dual exhaust outlets. Paint-protective film has been applied to the front of the car and to its lower sides.

The RSS Tarmac Stage II suspension was installed in-house by Road Sport Supply in Costa Mesa, California, around 2012, according to a previous owner of the vehicle.

Staggered-width 19″ GT2 wheels are finished Basalt Black with silver lips and are mounted with 235/35 front and 325/30 rear Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires that were installed in 2023. The GT2 is equipped with Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM), and it features stiffer dampers, higher spring rates, and a ride height one inch lower in comparison to the contemporary 911 Turbo. The Porsche Ceramic Composite Brakes (PCCB) feature yellow six- and four-piston calipers along with cross-drilled rotors.

The heated power-adjustable bucket seats are trimmed in black leather with Alcantara inserts, and matching upholstery extends to the dashboard, center console, and door panels. A Porsche Classic PCCM+ infotainment system installed in 2023 features navigation, a back-up camera, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto. Other interior appointments include body-color accents, the Sport Chrono Package, a Bose surround-sound system, automatic climate control, and cruise control.

The Alcantara-wrapped steering wheel was re-covered in 2020 by Dallas Custom Steering Wheel. It frames a central tachometer with a 6,800-rpm redline as well as a 225-mph speedometer and gauges for oil temperature, coolant temperature, oil pressure, and fuel level. The digital odometer indicates 25k miles, approximately 6k of which were added under current ownership.

I missed out on one of these a handful of years ago at $210k because I couldn’t pull the trigger emotionally. I knew it was a fair buy with nothing but upside potential, and I could write the check, but it was more than my first house, and I was losing sleep over it. It’ll be something that I regret forever.

I own this cars twin. We are actually around 1 of 26 for this spec. It's the best 911 of the bunch. GT3RS (of any generation) does not hold a candle.

Always wanted a white GT2 to go with my white 997.1 GT3.

I'm overjoyed to see that the days of these cars being underappreciated by the market are long gone, and the current bid level on the first day shows us that so clearly. I've owned mine since 2019 and cannot see any need to want to sell it as it is such a wonderful Porsche. They are sensational cars to drive, and are fun to track as well...leave PSM on and just have a great time! GLWTA

Good morning and welcome everyone to the auction! This has been unquestionably the best and most amazing car that I have ever had the privilege to own. Nobody here needs any introduction to what this car is. I have been blessed to be it's custodian for the past seven years or so. To answer questions already asked, the car did indeed get a new ECU in 2019 to replace the original which had failed. Interestingly, the ECU part number had been superceded by Porsche. The original ECU was 997.618.602.03 and the revised replacement ECU now in the car is 997.618.602.04. The top of the seat inserts are attached to the seat by a small upward-facing low profile hook in the seat frame. We didn’t notice that the passenger side was unhooked for the photos. We have since re-hooked it back on. Happy to answer any other questions that might come up, or take additional pictures of anything we missed. The only thing I wish I could convey on this auction, which I can't is the amazing smell of alcantara and leather you get when sitting in this car. My buddy who helped with the photo shoot said it smells like a brand new GT car right off the showroom floor!

What’s going on with the passenger side seat insert? Looks like it pulled away from the seat.

Those bucket seats and Alcantara steering wheel are exactly what I want in a GT2.

The 997 GT2 may be the last of the widowmakers. But what a way to go!

@seller, absolutely love your car, for the Alcantara gear knob, you can get it back to pristine looking simply by using a damp Mr. Clean eraser sponge and gently going back and forth. Will remove years of sweat and dirt without harming the Alcantara. Amazing revelation to me a few years ago and I use it on all my older used cars, also amazing at removing the glossy sheen that accumulates on leather steering wheels... GLWS
