This 2015 Porsche 911 GT3 Cup is a 991.1-generation factory race car that has been used primarily for Club-style events. Power is provided by a 3.8-liter flat-six linked with a six-speed sequential transaxle and a limited-slip differential, and equipment includes the Accessory Package, an air-jack system, a rear wing, tow hooks, xenon headlights, 18″ center-lock wheels, a Sabelt racing harness, a roll cage, a fuel cell, and a fire-suppression system along with a Bosch Motorsport anti-lock system and a ChillOut driver-cooling system, and the engine and gearbox were reportedly rebuilt at 11,300 kilometers along with installation of a replacement clutch. Acquired by the current owner in 2022, and this 991.1 GT3 Cup is now offered in Southbury, Connecticut, with service records, spare parts, an extra set of wheels, and a bill of sale.
Compared to the 997, the 991-generation GT3 Cup featured a 100mm-extended wheelbase and aluminum-steel hybrid construction. The doors, engine cover, and rescue hatch in the roof are all composed of carbon-reinforced plastic (CFRP), and polycarbonate windows were fitted in place of the side and rear glass. The front bodywork was revised for the Cup, and a roll bar was integrated along with tow points and roof-mounted connectors for recovery eye bolts. The bodywork of this example is finished in white beneath a red, black, and gray camouflage-style vinyl livery. Blemishes are noted on the bodywork, and scuffs are visible on the driver side. The right-side lower rocker panel was replaced in September 2021.
Silver-finished 18″ center-lock forged alloy wheels are mounted with Pirelli P Zero tires measuring 27/65-18 up front and 31/71-18 at the rear. The front axle design is a MacPherson strut-type axle with aluminum transverse control arms, and the rear axle uses a multi-link setup, and adjustable coilovers, uniball joints, and adjustable double-blade-style roll bars. Single-piece 380mm steel rotors are matched with six-piston front and four-piston rear aluminum calipers, and the system has two main hydraulic cylinders, adjustable brake balance, and a Bosch Motorsports anti-lock system. The car also features air jacks and hydraulic power steering, and a control arm was replaced in 2025.

@House69 Sounds like you have a good handle on things. The suspension is probably fine... rear was rebuilt fairly recently. Can have the shop (Daniel Jacobs) check the front before delivery is made. Can always have them go through the car before you take it too... they maintain a bunch of these cars. Brake fluid would have been done after the last track day.

Probably an ABS bleed tires fluids and transmission rebuild maybe suspension rebuild I just had to do that on my dot 2 it made all the difference in the world and it should be good to go

Yes for sure before it's driven a full rebuilt is definitely going to happen just to make sure there's nothing bad and it's not costly in the future since the Rebuilder usually around 20K nothing crazy

Current motor hours reflect 215, so it's been 66 hours since that major service on the transmission. Many will say that the engine rebuild cycle is very conservative on a modern cup car, but agree that you should adhere closely to the transmission schedule, as regular inspections will save you from large bills from taking it too long. If it has been 66 hours since this transmission has been looked at, I would do that before running the car. It might be in great shape and only need some fresh fluids and bearings, but you want to know that for sure.

@house69; from seller's comment a few days ago: "The major engine and trans service was done with the motor hours at 93 (11k KM)… this was the invoice shown in the gallery. In March 2022, with 149 hours on the motor, the transmission was gone through again. At this time it received a trans selector sleeve for 1st and 4th dog gears. They also replaced the friction discs in the differential, they replaced the transmission bearings, the slave cylinder, and they did a full service on the megaline actuator. The valve block and compressor where both removed and rebuilt at that time. In Jan 2023 right before the previous owner sold the car, they also replaced the release bearing in the transmission and did a full race prep on the car."

Per the PMNA guide - the 991.1 transmission is to be inspected every 30 hours, and rebuilt every 60 hours. This is the exact same service interval as the 991.2 has.
You might be thinking of the 991.2 GT3R cup which has a longer service interval, but is a very different car (at a very different pricepoint).

Also one other thing to clarify I know you've posted everything on the timing of the motor do we have an accurate timeline of when the transmission was fully rebuilt last cuz I know those are a lot weaker Transmissions than the dot 2 991 and have to be rebuilt more I'm just not quite sure when the next rebuild would be on that

It is our (Authentic Auctions) standpoint after talking to multiple shops that maintain these cars, that some people are misled by basic internet research into thinking these cars need a full rebuild far more often then they actually do. It certainly depends on who is driving and what events they are participating in. We can only attest to the history we know on this car.

@AuthenticAuctions actually the 991.1 Cup motor is the derived from the 997 Cup and the rebuild schedule/inspection schedule is 50hrs, not 100hrs (that changed with the 991.2 motors and the 9A1 motor). Per the Porsche PET guide "Engine Runtime - The 911 GT3 Cup (991) engine based on the 997 drive unit is designed for a maximum speed of 8,500 rpm so that an inspection interval of 50 hours is recommended".
With the engine at 122hrs its well past that, plenty of documented motors running past their rebuild schedule but also a fair point and reason to be considered with this car.

@Eljimador as I have stated in here and to a few people that have reached out on it, the 100 hour rebuild schedule is based on the car being campaigned or raced hard in actual racing series. This car has only seen club track days since the last rebuild. Will it eventually need to be done again? sure... does it need it now if you plan to take it to Lime Rock drivers club events? absolutely not... and this is not per my own opinions, this is per multiple race prep and Porsche race team management shop discussions. I would assume like any other high performance motor, rebuild quantity and overall duration of the life of the motor would depend on internal wear on things that cant be replaced... ie cylinder scoring or fractures and cracks in the block. Bearings and piston rings can be replaced without some finite count. The car runs like a top and leakdown tests have been consistently good on it.

With 122 hours on the engine since rebuild, one can certainly budget for an imminent rebuild and bid accordingly. But I’m also curious about how many times this engine can be rebuilt before replacement is required, especially if it’s already been rebuilt twice as conjectured below.
@seller, any insight on this? I recall reading that the 991.2 Cup engine could only be rebuilt once or twice before replacement (don’t know this for sure), but I think that was due to those engines using a different design and construction.

@Tvr-851 Neither shop seems to know what happened... but its something to do with the car's prior life before Autometrics got it in 2020. The way I see it, with the all the work done on it to keep it going strong, it's way more important to sort out what was done and when within the past 200 hours vs sorting out why the chassis KM's are showing higher than the motor KM's... that's my take. We have that pretty well nailed down now at least.

Ok here is the summary after a solid 20min on the phone with Autometrics in South Carolina... very helpful people there by the way... the car was under their care from July 2020 to Jan 2023. The major engine and trans service was done with the motor hours at 93 (11k KM)... this was the invoice shown in the gallery. So all to say, engine hours since the rebuild are a little higher, while hours since a major trans overhaul are notably lower than initially interpreted from the data we had. They also believe the ECU was likely replaced before the car came to them as that is the only way to square the 30k KM's logged on the Cosworth dash display.
They were helpful in explaining the the variance in ECU hours vs engine hours as well... engine hours show 215, and ECU hours show 375... the later is just ignition on, and engine hours are only logged over 3k RPM or so.
Autometrics said aside from the rebuilds done as called for, the car was reliable and ran great. Daniel Jacobs has confirmed the same. Both shops attested to the car only being used for club events.
Autometrics also noted that the rear suspension was rebuilt and fully serviced at 149 hours.
Apologies for any confusion on this one... tracking down every last detail on a car like this over a 6+ year time span is quite a thing vs normal road car maintenance schedules and history.
Even with the costs to maintain a car like this, the value play is still huge vs buying a new 992 cup... and its just so much track car for the money.

@Sblack Motor hours are at 215 since the prior rebuild and ECU reset and its showing 16,777 KM's... you can extrapolate hours at the time of the most recent rebuild using these numbers to be approx 145. There is some variance in there for use and idle times etc, but that should be very close.

One other note from the seller/maintainer of this car.... the fuel cell foam was changed out in 2024. They inspected it and everything was in great shape. It hasn't been recertified because that isn't needed for the club-style events this car has been run in.

*Caveat here on the hours.. the 43 stated earlier was based on average speed from chassis logs.. using the motor DME snapshot we get lower average speeds, thus higher hours... and thus the variance here. The easy to reference known quantity here is 5k KM's since last rebuild. That is what we can most confidently sight. Hope that seems reasonable.

@TVr-851 Yeah its all a bit confusing... we know the motor KM's and hours where not cleared out when it was rebuilt in 2021. And this is why Daniel Jacobs suspects this was the second rebuild... he suspects at the first rebuild they replaced or reset the ECU. The 2021 rebuild was done with 11,304 KM's logged, this is a motor KM reading, not the chassis. The DME for the motors KM's now shows 16,777. With this we know the motor and trans have about 5,473 KM's since the rebuild.
This is our second 991 Cup and the first one was a crash course in expected maintenance scheduling for these cars. Yes, Porsche tech guides say these motors should be rebuilt every 100 hours... but that is based on them being campaigned and raced hard. It's not based on them running track day weekend warrior events... which is what this car has been used for at least since the last rebuild. Daniel Jacob's stance is that these motors are incredibly versatile and as long as you maintain them properly, driving them on normal track days well over 100 hours is totally fine. I know this is much debated, but as a prior GT3 owner, it checks with my logic and experiences with these motors.
To summarize, it is our understanding that the car has roughly 215 hours logged on the motor DME, with two rebuilds happening during that span, one being at zero hours on the time span, and the other happening at roughly 145-155 hours... it just happens to be that we only have one of them fully documented.

The engine hours on a reciept from Jacobs in mid 2025 say 210hrs / 16777kms on the engine, which I’m reading as hours since the Autometrics rebuild.
Was there another rebuilt done recently that ties to 40ish hours of use? Maybe the DME wasn’t reset again?

The car has logged 43 hours of club driving since. It is believed there was likely another rebuild in this car's history based on how it was used and the hours on it, but we only have invoices for the most recent one. For the past few years this car has been maintained by Daniel Jacobs LLC, a Porsche specialty shop in CT. They change all the fluids after a track weekend, and they monitor motor health, performing regular leak-down testing. This is car is fully sorted and ready to go for club events. As mentioned, it comes with a complete second set of wheels and tires.

Like you said, nothing to crazy to get fixed if somebody wanted to. The seller loves this car but my understanding is that they ran into some health issues that are taking them out of track driving.

Welcome to the auction for this 991 GT3 Cup. It is well setup and looks the part... and yes, these car are absolute track weapons... but this biggest stand-out feature with this car is the $63k full rebuild done by Autometrics Motorsports. The car has logged 43 hours of club driving since. It is believed there was likely another rebuild in this car's history based on how it was used and the hours on it, but we only have invoices for the most recent one. For the past few years this car has been maintained by Daniel Jacobs LLC, a Porsche specialty shop in CT. They change all the fluids after a track weekend, and they monitor motor health, performing regular leak-down testing. This is car is fully sorted and ready to go for club events. As mentioned, it comes with a complete second set of wheels and tires.

Raced against this car a few times when it was with, what i assume to be its previous owner. Very cool car & well prepped!

I say this Cup ranks high on the weapons grade scale. I often wonder whether the driver aged out of Club Racing, decided it wasn't for them long term for other reasons, couldn't get insured any longer, or moved up in the racing world to faster or higher profile racing.
Nothing wrong on the surface that should be a hard fix; would be nice to know more about what happened down low on that left side door area, and how long ago.
