ProCharged Dart 363ci-Powered 1968 Ford Mustang Fastback 6-Speed
Presentation
This 1968 Ford Mustang fastback was purchased by the seller out of Ohio in 2018 and modified over the next few years with a ProCharged 363ci stroker V8, a T56 Magnum six-speed manual transmission, a fabricated 9″ rear end, TCI front and rear suspension, Wilwood brakes, mini-tubbed rear wheel wells, BC Forged wheels, an electric power-steering system, and chromoly chassis bracing. Capable of producing over 879 horsepower at the rear wheels, the engine features a Dart block, AFR 205 heads, forged internals, a Holley Super Sniper 1200 EFI system, a ProCharger D-1X supercharger, methanol injection, a Ron Davis radiator, and ceramic-coated Doug’s headers feeding a dual 3″ exhaust system with Borla XR-1 mufflers. Finished in Chili Red over black vinyl upholstery, the car is also equipped with Corbeau front bucket seats, AutoMeter Carbon Fiber gauges, a billet shifter, a Sony head unit, and an NRG quick-release steering wheel on an Ididit column. This Mustang fastback is now offered with a Deluxe Marti Report, a car cover, records, and a clean Iowa title in the seller’s name.
The seller states that the car was repainted Chili Red under previous ownership and that the finish has since been wet-sanded and buffed. The seller notes that the car had rust in the front subframe rails, shock towers, and radiator core support when purchased, and the firewall-forward sheet metal has since been replaced. Additional build work included replacement of the floor pans, inner fenders, front frame rails, crossmember, and radiator support. Several chips and stress cracks are noted in the paint, and close-up photos of blemishes are shown in the gallery.
The front suspension consists of a TCI independent front-suspension kit with RideTech adjustable coilovers, an upgraded sway bar, Flaming River manual steering, and Wilwood drilled and slotted brakes. The rear setup uses a TCI three-link suspension with a chromoly X-brace and a solid torque-arm brace extending from the rear end to the cross-bracing beneath the transmission.
The custom BC Forged three-piece wheels feature graphite centers and polished lips and measure 18×8.5″ up front and 18×11″ at the rear. They are mounted with Toyo Proxes tires measuring 265/40 and 315/35, respectively.
The cabin features Corbeau front bucket seats, a console, a billet shifter, and a Sony head unit. The rear wheel wells have been mini-tubbed using Mustangs to Fear tubs while retaining the factory quarter trim and folding rear seat.
The driver is provided an NRG quick-release steering wheel, an Ididit tilt column, and AutoMeter Carbon Fiber instrumentation. The odometer indicates 6,200 miles, all of which were added under current ownership.

@dancorley this was my dream car since I was a teenager, 67-68 were always my favorite cars, so I built what I always wanted. This was the first classic one I owned, but Ive had 4 others. None like this though.

The GT350 clone that went for 90k was a 302 I believe and has rust all over bottom and through rear trunk wells. It was the one that had a paxton shelby supercharger on it but otherwise had factory suspension, brakes, trans, rear end, etc. i watched that auction and could not believe the buyer bid it up that high, but Im also not a fan of clones or the eleanor cars people spend a 1/4 million on, so I guess Im bias. Maybe I should turn this to an Eleanor and put it back up? Haha

@Mstang64 Im right there with you, I guess in my opinion Im glad I made a reserve or Id be sick right now haha! Seeing some of the others ones sell for 90k with rust through the trunk and stock type drivetrains because they have "eleanor" body kits on them of gt350 clone stripes has been nuts. It is what it is though sometimes it just takes the right week you list the car for that to happen I guess!

Yes, its was a quarter mile run. I have several slips with 141mph trap speeds as well but they are mostly low and mid 10 second runs due to when the power was turned up it spins the tires through second. Once it hooks its a rocket ship though! Even in the street tune thats in it now making the 766rwhp it will consistently trap in the 135-138mph range and run in the mid 10's easily with a 2.0 60ft. I never wanted to launch the car super hard and put that torque on the body or potentially cause the cracks to spread on the quarters so I always took off fairly slow and then gave it down track.
Oct 7, 2026 · 17:53
@Cart22, I was not worried about if the car had been "beat", I do the same with my cars and when built right they can take quite a bit of use. I can see from the pics and your description the car was built with good parts and your knowledge of the build/tuning was impressive as well. I was curious as to how you were using it and how it performed? Was the 144 a trap speed in the qtr mile?
Cart22 (The Seller)
Oct 7, 2026 · 17:29
@mainlymusclecars also to expand, the car has not been beat on non stop, its been driven mostly and done autocross at good guys 3 times, and drag strip a couple times. I havent been back to drag strip for a few years as the car gets kicked out for not having a full roll cage. Its been 144mph before when I turned it up and they kicked me out right then.
Cart22 (The Seller)
Oct 7, 2026 · 17:27
I have taken it down drag strip a few times, Ive done autocross with it as well. I was going to go to a roadcourse but decided against it as the long straights at high rpm just wasnt worth the wear and tear to me. It would do phenomenal at a road course though! But Id probably lower the gearing down in rear to not be screaming at 7500 down the front stretches

Thanks! We are hours away to hopefully a new owner! I will be checking in regularly for any questions today. Something I thought of that no one has asked is the sound system, the car does have an upgraded sound system playing off the Sony deck. It has a center dash speaker, 2 6" kick panel rockford fosgates, 2 rockford fosgate 6x9 in back quarter panels, and a 10" MTX sub in the trunk all wired to a Pioneer class D amplifier. I always enjoyed just listening to the motor, but you can definitely play some tunes if you would like as well!
Thanks for all the kind comments and questions, this car is one of a kind, it gets a lot of attention at shows and driving and I think you would be hard pressed to find a better driving car for the money. The parts on this car are the same you see on the cars selling for huge amounts of money, heres your chance to get this one for a fraction that some are selling for, and if the paint is a worry, you can paint it your favorite color and still come out ahead!

No problem, hopefully that helps at least.
You did bring up a good point with the tunes and how the car works on the EFI, and I want to expand on that for other buyers as well.
I will load the tunes I have on a flash drive, however I will say the one thats in there now has been very reliable. If I were keeping the car I would probably lower the boost and run it on e85, I think the motor would respond well and probably make around the same power with a little lower boost since e85 can run a little more timing without detonation. Again, it doesnt need that, but that would be my plans for the future if the car stayed with me. I think running 12psi on e85 it would make around 700rwhp, but with a lot less stress on the motor and blower, so thats always a good thing! Also with the e85 the methanol injection can be by passed as well, and that would clean up the engine bay a little since I was OCD about that. Again, I have no issues walking the new owner through everything on the car, where everything is located, how Ibe done maintenance, how its wired, etc. Ill also be available after the sale to answer any questions, I really dont want anyone to be hung out to dry on details or questions after they own it. I can give any info down to spark plug gaps, tunes, timing, how things come apart or go back together, etc. hopefully that gives so peace of mind to the new buyer.

A lot of those questions have been answered in the listing as well as the comment section. As states below the dash vin is covered completely by the new dash pad. The car is the car that is titled and what the original door tag that came on the car pictured is. The lime gold paint is seen above the door tag picture where a piece if red paint chipped off. When I purchased the car it also had the factory drivetrain still in it, the factory rear end also was factory gearing and all. As I said below the dash pad is not as easy as it seems as the surrounding trim has to be pulled and then unbolted from underneath which means taking the radio, gauges and a center speaker out that sits under the dash pad. I apologize I just dont have the time to do that at the moment to get a pic of that tag.
The inner fender tag was not replaced when the inner fender was replaced. Due to the front suspension setup the car no longer has shock towers, when they were taken out they also had rust on them.
The chassis has the entire chromoly 3 link from TCI, when that was installed everything lined up within a 1/16" side to side and the measurements of the frame rails are more exact than the factory frame rails were. It has not been on any frame alignment rack. The measurements when it was together were spot on so I didnt see a reason to ever put it on one. The car tracks straight and always has since built.
As far as paint cracks, I explained below that they were present when I bought the car, the ones above the fenders I created when I rolled the fenders and was impatient and didnt use heat which caused too much stress and the fender paint cracked, the largest crack pictured is on the rear quarter right in front of trunk which again is in the pictures. Various other imperfections such as rock chips, etc from driving are present on the car. Ive done a lot of cruising in it, most of the miles were put on in a 3 year span as since I started my truck build I havent had a lot of time to drive it as much as Id like.
The boost is listed directly on the dyno sheet posted in the picture above. It is 21psi. Every tune on the car uses the same exact fuel mapping and octane which is 93 pump gas. Its never had race fuel or e85 ran through it, though I planned on running e85 as everything is rated for it, but the sniper would run out of injector with higher boost. The current pulley runs at about 14psi where the rev limiter is set at 6500rpm on the street, If you turn it to 6800 or so it will see 16psi. The two other pulleys will get 21 psi and 24psi, you could buy another pulley if you wanted it at a lower boost level, I didnt.
The methanol injection system does not have a fail safe built in to that system, the Holley EFI has fail safes built into it that will pull timing for various things like manifold temp spiking (which is a direct sign the methanol isnt spraying). It also will pull timing with boost pressure, engine coolant temp, etc. if there is a fault in the system it will flash yellow and not show it spraying on the gauge right above the steering column.
The tune wouldnt change based on a "street tune", the tune thats in the car right now is the street tune, and conservative, if you choose to put a 8psi pulley on it nothing in the tune changes, its just a pulley swap as the cars timing is already tunes based on boost pressure, it doesnt matter what you put into it, unless you wanted a more aggressive tune for that boost. I have various tunes but the best thing you could do would be to download the Holley on to your computer and plug it into the car, you can change anything you want including when the electric fans come on, idle, timing, AFR, etc.
I touched on the power steering below, its an EPAS system that has a column mounted motor to drive the manual rack, its not hydraulic. If you go on their website it will better explain how the system works.
The seats have sliders, and can move back and forth probably 6-8", Ive never measured as the seat stays where it is. I am 5'11" and have probably 3" from my head to roof. AC is not possible with the supercharger setup so that would need to come off if buyer wanted it. That was discusses below as well and another comment mentioned electric AC systems being available.

1. Can you post photos of the dash VIN plate and every surviving factory-stamped VIN on the body, and confirm that all match 8T02C204021 and the Iowa title?
2. Were either or both original VIN-stamped front fender aprons removed during the firewall-forward reconstruction?
3. Who performed the structural/body work, and are there photographs and invoices showing the frame rails, shock towers, floors and torque boxes during reconstruction?
4. Has the chassis ever been put on a frame/alignment rack since the work, and are alignment specifications available?
5. Where exactly are the paint stress cracks, and have they changed or grown while you’ve owned/driven the car?
6. What fuel was used for the 879-rwhp tune, what boost produced that figure, and what horsepower/boost do the two additional pulleys produce?
7. Does the Snow methanol system have an engine-protection failsafe if methanol pressure/flow is lost?
8. Is there a lower-boost pump-gas street tune already stored or available?
9. The description mentions electric power steering but also a Flaming River manual steering setup. Is this an electric column-assist system operating a manual rack, and is it adjustable?
10. Do the Corbeau seats have sliders, how much fore/aft travel is available, and approximately how tall is the seller/primary driver? Also: does the car have air conditioning?
Thank you

@Beto310, no, the new dash pad is completely covering it, I would need to take all the trim around dash off and the dash pad off to get a picture of that. Unfortunately I dont have time to take that all off right now. I didnt do anything with the dash as far as replacing it so it will still be under there. I didnt click any pictures when it was torn down as I knew the car was the correct car thats titled based on the other tag and the fact it had all the matching paint, motor, rear, trans as the marti report. I still have all those parts in storage that I took off including the short block the car was purchased with. If you look in picture 37 above you can see what I mean about it being covered up. It may not seem like a pain to do that however I have to take the radio out as there is a center speaker mounted up under the dash that fits down into the steel dash, so it doesnt allow the dash to just slide back as its all bolted in up under there, so its a process. I apologize. And thanks for the post.

@cocomats, its actually surprisingly not that bad (unless youre really getting on it a lot that is). Cruising around its probably better than any of the factory motors that came with these. Ive never calculated mpg on it but I know when Ive taken it on a 220 mile cruise one way for a good guys event I had to fill up about 20 miles outside the event and it was probably 1/4 left but it was the only station that had 93. It has a 16 gallon tank so with that info it was around 16mpg or so. Obviously stop and go and leaning on it, it goes down pretty quick!
Cruising on the highway the duty cycle on the injectors sits around 2-3%, its a great cruiser, thanks for the question!

Also not mentioned in the modifications of the interior, when the new floor pans were installed, new seat mounts were purchased, however due to a lot of taller people having issues with their heads hitting the roof I took the new seat mounts and cut them down by almost 2" then welded them back to the floor. This allows the Corbeau seats to seat real low. The next step was installing the TMI one piece headliner that sucks up next to the roof to have another inch or so of head room.
When I purchased the car and it had stock seats and interior my hair was touching the headliner driving around, I can now sit in the car comfortably with a helmet on and have nothing close to touching the roof!

Hope everyone is having a good weekend, here is a picture I found from right after the minitubs were installed and the killmat was laid down on the entire interior floor and trunk.
I figured I would have a lot more questions regarding the build of the car, if anyone has anything they would like to know, dont hold back!

If anyone has any questions or the need anything else I can supply as far as pictures go this would be a good time over the weekend to ask! Here is a picture from a photoshoot the car was in that ended up being used in a car calendar!

This car is ready to go to the new owner! Not mentioned on the listing and completed in the last couple weeks is a fresh oil change with GP1 racing oil (which is whats been run in this car since built), procharger oil change, new NGK 5671a-7 racing spark plugs, flushed the radiator and cooling system and refilled with distilled water and redline water wetter, and last but not least to make sure everything was good for awhile I out all new felpro MLS 5 layers head gaskets, new felpro intake gaskets, retorqued head studs after a heat cycle and set all rocker arm preload. All the videos taken of cold start and drive were taken after the maintenance was done. Its ready to go for thousands of more miles!
As always if you have any questions feel free to ask!

Yea. The single adjustable coil overs are crazy in their range of adjustment. From marshmallow to rigid :) This is the 3rd car I've built with that torque arm pro touring. Wont be the last :) Good luck with the listing!

@bnelson I couldnt have said it better. It is so fun to drive and the beat part was it doesnt ride harsh at all.

Just an FYI for anyone wondering. I just completed a 68 build with that same suspension. Words cant describe how much of an upgrade that TCI chassis is above the stock suspension. I live in a mountainous area and it is a flat out blast to drive on the mountain roads.

I just noticed a key part missing and dont know how, I guess because there is a picture in the listing but wanted to make sure everyone knew. This car does have electric power steering from EPAS performance. It has the underdash mount motor on the steering column which was shortened by ididit to accommodate it. It does have a potentiometer under the dash which you can adjust the level of assist you want to completely off. I will say with the wider stickier tires up front it helps tremendously when stationary, when the car moving you could steer it with one finger and its very responsive with all the suspension work!

This is better than any coyote build - literally my dream engine for my 68 right there. Also, they make some electric A/C kits now that could probably work around that supercharger. They are getting more popular and available - Just ideas for the next owner of this insane build

@Cart22 - pic 109, drivers side there is a little "notch" - usually it's stamped in this area on top of the apron. If you're able to find it and/or wiggle the dash vin out, post pics. I get the warm-fuzzies seeing all the VINs.

Hwy68, I did put a new dashpad on, the dash vin would be under that, as far as the fender vin, I guess Im not sure where that would be located, but I can say if its on the inner fender it is gone because the inner fenders were replaced with all the metal from firewall forward.

Jetman, the car does not have AC and for it to be installed the supercharger would have to come off. The car does however have a brand new working blower motor, heater core the factory controls, it does work but to be honest Ive never used it in the entire time Ive had the car because I usually only have driven it on nice days/nights and Ive never needed it. But if the new owner wanted to do that, they could sell the procharger and easily pay for a new restomod air kit and have it. The car would still make about 500hp without the procharger, but that wasnt for me, I always enjoyed windows down and the front windows flipped.

Great build: love that it's been driven properly. Sorry if I missed this in the gallery, but does it still have the fender vin / dash vin? If you've installed a new dash pad, it tends to get buried.

Absolutely! The cracking has been from several things, I did purchase the car with some of the cracks on there already such as the large one on the quarter panel in front of trunk, however it wasnt as large as that and when I put this much power to the chassis it didnt help the situation. When I bought the car I didnt want to spend the money on paint because it actually does look great after I wet sanded and buffed it and I wanted to drive the car a lot and not worry so much about that. The cracks are the paint, it is not a thick coat of body filler, I had the car down to a shell when I built it and have seen all the back sides of the metal, there is not rust located on any portion of the body. Any rust that I saw on the car was replaced as stated in the listing. As far as the cracks located on the fender lips, that was my bad back when I was rolling the fenders for clearance and I cranked it too much too fast and it cracked it (wasnt a happy moment in the garage). Each crack that I can see there is not this massive coat of body filler that's cracked underneath, now Im sure rhe car was skim coated when it was painted, but I can put my fingers and a gauge on both sides of the metal and gauge thickness where most of the cracks are and it is not outside of the norm, the fenders are all solid metal and I think the cracking in the paint boils down to the car not being prepped properly by whoever painted it. There are spots on the car such as inside the door jam right above the vin tag where you can see the paint chipped from riveting it on securely and you can see the factory lime gold right under the red. Also in the picture of the trunk you can see the lime gold right under it. On one if the paint chips that came off I could see directly underneath it was primed metal and no filler on the front fender next to the headlight bucket. I will say from 10ft away the car looks pristine, but I dont want anyone to think they are getting in door show quality paint job. The paint was the only thing I didnt touch on this car, however it is a solid car. Hopefully that helps, I can answer anything else you have if you need me to expand.

@Cart22, Incredibly cool car! Can you please shed some light on the cracking shown in the gallery? Is it simply paint cracking from autocrossing and tracking the car or is it body filler that has been applied too thick? It's hard to tell from the pics exactly what's going on there.

I am usually partial to "mostly-correct" Mustangs but appreciate nicely modified ones also. @seller - nice result here in not creating just another "copy" of some other versions that people do. (yes, there is a large market for them as well). Between the metal that needed to be replaced and the Marti report, this fastback was a perfect candidate to go and create a non-stock and different car. Adding to what @Hoppy18 indicated - this isn't just "another Red Mustang"!

Thanks for the kind comments! It is bittersweet to sell it, I built it as the car I always wanted. I know someone will probably ask why Im selling. Im currently building a pro touring 1965 f100 with a coyote thats even more of a build than this was and I would just like to have a little extra cash to not hold back and have it be perfect. This car has been an amazing ride and will always have the memories at car shows and cruises with my family, but its time to focus on the next idea I have in my head.

That was exactly my goal, I love the design of these, its timeless and I didnt want to mess with the styling a ton. But I wanted all the amenities and to drive better, plus be a rocket. The car is very tame to drive around, if you want to turn it up, you can, but I will say I drive it around with about 750rwhp and its plenty. I have turned it up to 24psi when I took it to dream cruise, the motor is making well over 1000hp (flywheel) at that level and its just too much for the street.

Sometimes you don't need to change a thing when a car has so many upgrades. Wheels & stance are fantastic plus almost 900hp that purrs, seems like a great allrounder.

Hello everyone! I hope everyone is having a good day and wanted to take a moment to say that I have poured my heart and soul into building this car and had the privilege of enjoying it the last 8 years Ive owned it. I built this car to be an excellent driver while being able to run with the best of them. I know some might see the power numbers and think this is a high maintenance race car, however it was built mainly to drive, to go on power tour and cruises, and drive on date night. It is a excellent riding car and with the adjustable suspension you can make it as cushy as you want! It will drive down the road at a little over 2000rpm going 70mph with minimal noise from the engine for what it is. I wish everyone happy bidding, and as always if you have any questions feel free to ask or message me on here with the contact seller button. If you wish to talk on the phone or have in depth questions I have no problems doing so as I know every nut and bolt on this car. Along with the sale will be various extra parts, I have extra pulleys and belts for the procharger, some extra exterior trim pieces, body plugs, factory front bumper that does have scratches on it so it was replaced with new front and back. As with any build like this there are so many things that are forgotten, so as I think of more I will update in the comments. Thanks!
