1965 Chevrolet Corvette Sting Ray Coupe 327/365 4-Speed
Presentation
Designed by Larry Shinoda, the C2's styling drew on the Jaguar E-Type and Chevrolet's 1959 Stingray racing concept. For 1965, the Corvette received a smoother hood, restyled rocker panel moldings, and functional triple vertical vents in the front fenders. Finished in metallic blue, this Coupe was refinished during its 1998 restoration, with the seller describing the paintwork as concours-quality and still presenting as new. The seller notes that the tires appear to be in good shape but are more than six years old. Detailed images are provided in the gallery.
The interior is trimmed in black and presented in original specification, described by the seller as very high quality. The C2's dual-cockpit dashboard houses a full complement of Corvette instrumentation, and equipment includes a power antenna. The gauges are reported to function, though the clock is intermittent.
The L76 327ci (5.4-liter) Small Block V8 is fed by a four-barrel carburetor and factory rated at 365 HP and 350 lb-ft of torque, with power reaching the rear wheels through a 4-speed manual transmission. The seller states that the engine, transmission, and rear end were reconditioned to original specifications and that all numbers and codes match. For 1965, the Corvette also made four-wheel disc brakes standard across the range. The seller reports that all service is up to date.
This sale will include a clean title.
The seller would like you to know: "The car has been in the same ownership since 1968. In 1998 it received a total body-off-frame restoration to very high standards."

Arthor is correct. This is a beautiful '65 Corvette "Coupe". Another note: while Larry Shinoda was a brilliant designer who contributed greatly to the Sting Ray, Peter Brock typically gets the original design credit.
