1997 Porsche 911 Turbo S
Presentation
This 1997 Porsche 911 Turbo S is one of approximately 176 examples produced for the US market, and it was specified in Guards Red over a black leather interior with heated and power-adjustable hard-back sport seats. A twin-turbocharged 3.6L flat-six drives all four wheels through a six-speed manual transaxle with a limited-slip differential. The car is equipped with larger turbochargers than the standard Turbo as well as an extra oil cooler, integrated quarter panel intakes, revised exterior aerodynamics, and larger brakes with yellow calipers. Additional features include 18″ Turbo Twist wheels, xenon headlights, red seatbelts, carbon-fiber interior trim, and a CD stereo. Purchased by the seller in 2022, this 993 Turbo S shows 24k miles and is offered with a Porsche Certificate of Authenticity, the owner’s manual, service records, a damage-free Carfax report, and Connecticut registration.
All Turbo S models were built by the Porsche Exclusive department with quarter panel intakes, yellow brake calipers, a four-tipped exhaust system, and an Aerokit front spoiler with revised venting and fog light placement. This example is finished in Guards Red (80K) and also features a power sunroof, a rear window wiper, biplane rear spoiler, and xenon headlights with washers. Paint protection film has been applied to areas of the body, and the quarter panels have been refinished.
The silver-finished 18″ Turbo Twist wheels are mounted with Michelin tires. The car features an Automatic Brake Differential (ABD), and the 993 was the first 911 to feature multi-link rear suspension. Braking is managed by ventilated and cross-drilled rotors paired with yellow Porsche-branded four-piston calipers all around.
The heated and power-adjustable hard-back sport seats feature body-color shells and are trimmed in black leather, which extends to the dash, center console, doors, and rear seats. Carbon-fiber trim adorns the interior, and additional features include automatic climate control, a CD stereo, cruise control, red seatbelts, and stainless-steel Turbo S-branded door sill guards. The climate control unit was replaced in 2026.
The leather and carbon-fiber-trimmed steering wheel frames a central tachometer, a 200-mph speedometer, an analog Quarz clock, and gauges for oil pressure, oil temperature, oil level, and fuel level. The six-digit odometer shows 24k miles, approximately 600 of which were added under current ownership. The Carfax report lists a mileage inconsistency in August 2026, though it notes that it may be the result of a clerical error, and an email from Penske Porsche stating the mileage was entered incorrectly when the car was in for service is shown in the gallery.
The twin-turbocharged 3.6L flat-six features larger turbochargers, an additional oil cooler, and a modified Motronic engine management system when compared to the standard 993 Turbo. It produced 424 horsepower and 423 lb-ft of torque when new. An engine-out service was completed in 2023, at which time the drive belts, right camshaft cover, right timing chain cover seal, power steering pulley, and drive belts were replaced. The battery was replaced in 2025, and the oil was changed and a compression test was completed in 2026.

Data correction has been submitted to Carfax support. I'll chime back in on this auction after hearing back from them, and it generally takes a few business days for them to review and correct.

@rumbleauto greatly appreciate it... I had to request my colleagues at Porsche Penske Fairfield to write a letter of clarification for this auction.

Out of the pure interest of keeping this amazing 993TTS impeccable with regards to its Carfax history, I am using the data reported here and submitting a Carfax case to correct the mileage inconsistency. I'll let you know how it goes. I am not affiliated with the car or seller at all, but I'm good at resolving these matters with Carfax and this car fully deserves that so that its history is correct.

@jbjerke you are correct. thank you. I used the wrong terminology...
A mil is an imperial unit equal to one-thousandth of an inch (0.001 in or 0.0254 mm), while a millimeter (mm) is a metric unit equal to one-thousandth of a meter (about 0.0394 in or 39.37 mils).

@Stim4u I believe you mean deduct 8-10 mils (.008" - .010") on paint meter readings. 8-10mm would be 5/16" to 3/8" thick film.

Couple updates. The car history is not completely know to me. Has been cared by several reputable motor vendors: Park palace (OR/WA), Miller motor cars (CT), and Houston motors(TX). I personally have put 600 miles on the car and she drives perfectly. The paint meter readings are pending, Snappr has not shared them yet. Remember to deduct 8-10mm on the whole body PPF (placed roughly 4 years ago-but in good shape/no discoloration), majority of panels are 2-3mm under the PPF. Rear quarter panels were refinished by Houston motor works for rock chips. Hope that helps...

Yes indeed, a beautiful car in this combo. Looking forward to seeing where this ends up.
@MPM97turbo has the right intuition on the mats. They are not the factory black with red script mats that came with the car, but could possibly be OEM sourced from Lloyd Mats at some point. They are definitely a custom mat and not sure if Lloyd would make a different configuration for you if requested, but note the cutouts for the pedals, the stock mat didn't have those as they came up to the pedal area but not up and around them. Also, the mat does not have the OEM grommet hole for fastening to floor mount and the lower edges are not shaped as OEM, so most likely the owner at the time found someone to make these.
Interesting story on the OEM mats with the Porsche crest embroidered into the mat. Porsche notified their manufacturers (Lloyd Mats in USA) in late 2000s they didn't like the idea of people having their shoes on the crest, so by 2010/11 they pulled the license from them and they were no longer able to sell them that way. Lloyd had the license for only the script mats after that until around 2021 when the licenses were pulled by Porsche.
