@MS23 Not an expert on this but there are two routes to getting this registered in California. You can bring it into CARB compliancy which would probably be on the expensive side if it's even doable.
You could look to bring it in under the Show and Display rule. You would need to petition to get the car added to the list of Show and Display if it's not already on there. Since there were less than 500 units made of the special lightweight package it could meet the criteria for being added to the list.
But both of these don't sound like immediate solutions so there's your likely answer. Anyone with more knowledge please chime in.
